50 Cent and Kanye West are the only ones selected to be GQ's "Men of the Year" who have no false modesty about it both of the hip-hop stars justify their big egos in the mag's pages. But they also have more on their minds than just themselves. Like George W. Bush, for one. 50 thinks the president is "incredible ... a gangsta." "I wanna meet George Bush, just shake his hand and tell him how much of me I see in him," 50 told GQ. If the rapper's felony conviction didn't prevent him from voting, 50 said he would have voted for Bush. Meanwhile, Kanye basically called Bush a racist on national television, and has since rethought his strategy for speaking out. "When NBC edited it out on the West Coast, that was a wakeup call," West told the magazine. "It let people know how censored we still are. This is supposed to be America, but you can't get your opinion out. There's all kinds of things I want to say, but I need to pace myself, to make sure my opportunities to say these things aren't taken away too abruptly."
"Take a dream on a Sunday
Take a life, take a holiday
Take a lie, take a dreamer
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream along..."

Cogent
I think Fiddy is pro-fighting back against imminent threats
that is one of a couple a things he and I have in common....
how odd
How do you know this?
Would you please translate the gibberish under the picture, for those of us who don't know whatever that is?
HUNH??????????????????????
Translation ?
Isn't that a hoot?!
I don't pretend to understand that nonsense. Just thought it was funny. It would appear though that he is saying something about getting ready to bomb the Middle East.
Yes my friend we are going to drop nuclear
bombs on the Middle East, ...the Taliban,
...the Iraqi Resistance...Saddam...
And definitely on Osama Bin Laden!
We are going to kill *all* the terrorists!
LOL! This link might help you out some. You can translate normal, standard English, into Jive/ebonics. Pretty funny.

Thanks! :-)
Many thanks for the translation! :-)
I got that part, but this is REALLY weird looking and I thought that I should ask. Goodness knows, it isn't English and confusing.
Somehow, I'm reminded of the "Ubber Dubber" language from the children's television program, Zoom. Was that a local show, or does anybody else remember that ("Come on and Zoom zoom zooma zoom!")?
Funny, many things about hip hop, rap and "gangsta" culture reminds me of kiddy stuff - except most of it adds in murder, drugs, violence, etc.
Rhyming as an "art" form. Made up languages. Inability to spell words correctly. Exteme shifts in clothing styles. Very child-like in many respects.
If the "artist" engaged in these things was a teenager, so be it. It's the adults in the "culture" that crack me up.
Small groups with the major populace, has ALWAYS had it's own language; often rhyming. The Cockneys did, for one and criminal groups have also always had their own forms of speech.
Rap and perhaps Hip Hop too, is a direct descendant of "DOING THE DOZENS", which was a black ghetto way to insult others and sometimes rhymed. It was a way to fight, without using anything but words. This can and did hurt worse than a punch in the face.
The "gangsta"/hip hop look, which sadly has now invaded other communities, began in the late '70s, in poor black ghettos. The boys tried to look like criminals in prison ( no belt, hence big droopy pants, no shoelaces, etc. ), because they said that they'd wind up there anyway, so why not dress the part now.
"I'm kind of interested in just what he sees in Dubya that he sees in himself..."
They're capitalists?
Suge Knight, who owned a record label that sold a lot of the 'gangsta' albums that came out in the '90's apparently supports Bush, and the Iraq war, according to Jay Nordinger:
http://www.nationalreview.com/impromptus/impromptus031703.asp
"More celebs? A reader sent me this:
"'I saw something on TV last night that I thought you'd appreciate. West Coast gangsta-rap impresario Suge Knight, having just been released from prison, was on the Jimmy Kimmel late-night talk show. And more than once, Suge mentioned that he supported the president and our country and our fight. He also emphasized that he was an American, and not a hyphenated African-American. . . . Rap mogul and admitted thug Marion 'Suge' Knight, new conservative hero?'"
I think that if you are ascending economically, you'll ask yourself what you have in common with a socialist political party, even if you're black. Dems want to increase taxes on your income, regardless of your race. If I came from a background with little history of family wealth, I'd be wary about giving up half of my financial success, too.
