50 Cent and Kanye West are the only ones selected to be GQ's "Men of the Year" who have no false modesty about it both of the hip-hop stars justify their big egos in the mag's pages. But they also have more on their minds than just themselves. Like George W. Bush, for one. 50 thinks the president is "incredible ... a gangsta." "I wanna meet George Bush, just shake his hand and tell him how much of me I see in him," 50 told GQ. If the rapper's felony conviction didn't prevent him from voting, 50 said he would have voted for Bush. Meanwhile, Kanye basically called Bush a racist on national television, and has since rethought his strategy for speaking out. "When NBC edited it out on the West Coast, that was a wakeup call," West told the magazine. "It let people know how censored we still are. This is supposed to be America, but you can't get your opinion out. There's all kinds of things I want to say, but I need to pace myself, to make sure my opportunities to say these things aren't taken away too abruptly."
Finally, Republicans getting some of the black community's vote! ;-)
fittyscent has been blunting in overtime. word.
More like Fiddy bein' da anti-Kayne.
Follow the $$$.
I'm kind of interested in just what he sees in Dubya that he sees in himself...
50 could have shifted thousands of votes towards Bush if he would have said this months earlier. Some of his mindless fans will do anything he says.
50 cent should be careful. Sammy Davis' hug of Richard Nixon ruined his career. He shouldn't stray off the reservation like that if he wants to keep selling rap albums.
This shows how stupid Kayne is. Bush didn't censor Kayne, NBC did. As defined in the Constitution, only Congress (the government) may NOT restrict freedom of speech. NBC is welcome to as it is not government.
Any chink in the liberal armor of the entertainment industry is good, regardless of the source. Fiddy can make it stick by living by more of George's standards, but we must welcome him to the light.
probably he see himself as enterprising and overcoming his demons to rise to the top of his art?
On some level 50 may understand.
I'm interested too...
glad the kid is on "our" side
but also am a little scared ;)
Kanye West should thank God that NBC edited his rantings for the West Coast audience. Mushmouth is kind of hard to understand, but he started ranting about troops in Iraq coming home to kill people in NO.
Don't ask me how I know this....
Be nice to have someone like him shedding some light to the young black vote!
I actually don't find it too crazy that he said this. He is a hell of a businessman, and anybody witha good head for business should be a Republican. Maybe he had other reasons than that too, I don't know. I'm not completely sure why, but it kind of makes sense to me. Kanye West on the other hand is a moron.
...Those rapper are always finding SOME new shocking thing to say....
