"Wear Red" Friday

You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

two of the performers in Forever Plaid (little theater).

The blonde is a Music/arts minister at church in Akron & the other gent owns a software business

I really cut a lot off.. some areas as much as 6". Not a steady guy now. Men just don't like women to cut their hair. All the others I see like LONG hair too but I had fun wth the scissors & mixing colors today. Like I say, I wanted it a bit darker. More ash next time

This Lord’s Day Inspirational Thought “kept growing” as I wanted to do a tribute to TC & use the Bible verses he put here on the Finest last year. I know many of our Finest Regulars & others who will visit are deeply overwrought with the earthly loss of TC. We do know he is without pain & in a better place, but that does NOT negate the empty spot he has left here in our hearts.

As you go to your place of worship today, may your prayer be one of thanks for his life, service to his country, his caring heart & the joy he brought to so many

Hello, family....…
I feel pretty good today so I'm going to take advantage of it and touch base with everyone.
I'm not sure how much info about my day to day condition I can post without boring everyone out of their gourds, but I'll try to be brief. One reason I think this might be important is that there may be someone else out there who is traveling the same road, and my experiences might help.

I don't dwell on horror stories like so many people on the support Web sites. I never look at the whole forest; I concentrate on one tree at a time. When I open my eyes in the morning, I thank God for the gift of another day, and it's the only day that's important.
I'll try to clarify some of the things that became misconstrued over the last two weeks:
The whole body bone scan showed only one bright spot ("bright" equals "bad"). I expected that. It's in the area where the tumor destroyed the femur so there had to be some cancer cells left after the removal of the femur.

The area of the lungs effected by the cancer is in the middle lobe but it has NOT collapsed the lung. It's simply exerting pressure and decreasing the capacity of that area. This is causing shortness of breath, but I have some meds now that relieves the symptoms. The doctor said he could barely detect any change in size of the cancer nodules from the last CAT scan a few months ago.

After all this time, I start chemical treatments on the 26th. I am sooo ready!
We can beat this thing, but we have to have the tools to do so.
This is a family effort, and I can feel the love and compassion from all over this land. I don't know why God chose me for this bountiful blessing, but I recognize it and I appreciate it.

It is a thread started a few years ago by FReepers who wanted to honor the troops, various FReepers and present information/articles that would be of general interest to the participants. It is one of the "gentle" threads composed of men/women of all ages, marital status & occupations.
