Poll: Most Americans Say Bush Not Honest
My Way News ^ | Nov 11 | Will Lester

WASHINGTON (AP) - Two crucial pillars of President Bush's public support - perceptions of his honesty and faith in his ability to fight terrorism - have slipped to their lowest point in the AP-Ipsos poll.

While the CIA leak investigation, the mishandling of Hurricane Katrina and high energy costs have all taken their toll, the polling found the Iraq war at the core of Americans' displeasure with the president.

All of those concerns are cutting into traditional Bush strengths.

I'm not some DU troll, if that's what people think.

I don't think you're a troll. A true troll wouldn't do anything as obvious as spelling Reagan's name wrong in their tagline.

Did you try to set the record straight?

BTW, how do you know that those people weren't from the other 22%?

It's a classic case of the Big Lie. I think that Bush wants to restore civility to the political scene, and he indeed the case, he's making a mistake. He's fighting a defensive war with the Left, and you can't win a war by fighting defensively. He should go all out and show that the Left are the real liars.

Its the media telling people what to think, how to think and then telling those who know better to read it, this is just more BS from the left.

My mistake. I meant to say that 'I think that Bush wants to restore civility to the political scene, and he may feel that not saying anything about the Left's attacks is part of that civility. Or maybe he feels that the truth will out, and the Left's propaganda will prove inefective.'

Oh, come on. I'm certainly not a big Bush fan (anymore), but to question his sincerity or honesty is just a load of crap.

It's what keeps getting him pounded, and which is what the media has done relentlessly. I'm sure there's some push polling here, but I'm also sure the constant drumbeat has had an effect.

Sorry. I didn't know what you meant. All this MSM stuff is a perfect example of the good old Big Lie, don't you think? Thank the Lord that we have FreeRepublic.com, Fox, talk radio, et al in order to help clear away the left-wing agitprop crap.

The fact that Bush won with a large popular vote margin shows that polls should NOT be over-sampling Dems. Especially when so many Registered Dems who voted last election have been DEAD for some time

"what can we do about the perceptions"

A better question is how do we clean house at the LATimes, NYTimes, PBS, NPR, C-SPAN, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC for starters?

Until those are changed and people like those you are around each day (myself included,I'm the only conservative at work with a majority of liberals) get more than a soundbite to form their opinions, nothing much will change.

Unfortunately their agenda from my perspective, is to make the label "corruption administration" stick to the Bush administration as he rightly called it concerning Clinton. Thank goodness on every turn Bush has been vindicated one way or another each time his critics have raised their voices in complaint.

Not a problem. Saw the potential quip, and felt compelled by my inescapable sense of irony to take the shot. My turn will come.

We've been in a dark time for the past several months.

If the polls are accurate, they don't speak negatively against the President, in my opinion; they speak toward the power and bias of the media, and the gullability of the American public.

This too shall pass.

Per your tagline: Screw Savage. Sure he has some valid points but he's such a blowhard that he alienates any possible converts straddling the fence. He is a net loss for conservative gains.

Well, we all know the old NAZI saying, if you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it as the truth.

First the media trumpeted to the world, and repeated over and over again, that Preisdent Bush is a mental lightweight, from the very beginning of his first campaign. This extended to the overseas press, ensuring that the vast majority of foreigners would believe the same, and causing a major loss of prestige of the US.

Then the dems, which includes the MSM, repeat, day after day, for years, that "Bush lied!" Well, it's begun to catch on.

Compared to the dems, Goebbles was a rank amateur.

"I didn't know anything about the damn poll. I didn't know for sure just how many of the people polled were Democrats, and how many were Republicans. I suspected that it was a case of Democrat agitprop, so I posted it to find out if it was. I'm not some DU troll, if that's what people think.

If you just took a second you could have reviewed the article's graphic which shows a bias from the start. The 2004 averages were created by polling REGISTERED voters - the Nov. 7-9 '05 numbers were from a poll of 1,000 ADULTS. While not as stark as when LIKELY voters are polled, comparing registered voter polling to the polling of 1,000 ADULTS guarantees a good sized collection of unknowledgable twits mnay of whom will not actually (and often have not) vote(d) come '06.

Second this accompanying article is written by the infamous AP hack Will Lester. Nuff' said.

In conclusion: any criticism of your post is well justified because you refused to make the most rudimentary review of the article/poll and just seem to expect others to do the basic internet legwork (I didn't look for complete internal breakdowns but will do so in a moment.)
