I met Mr. Washington at Ft. Hood. We had lunch together. There he was, hanging out at the Burger King, with his cap. That's what drew me.
He'd fought at Normandy, Remagen, and, Chosun. Two purple hearts, and, if memory serves, two silver stars. They were on that hat.
He was so proud, having lunch with the troops.
Hat tip to you, Mr. Washington, and to all members past and present of the US armed services.
HBTY USMC.
And to my grandfather, who ran up San Juan hill with TR, and my great granddads, who fought in the War Between the States, one on each side, a special thanks.

I had a great time saying "Thank you!" at our Veterans Day parade. As always, I met nice people there. Two years ago our veterans were out in a cold misting rain. It's the least I can do to be there for them.
THANKS, VETERANS.
