The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows that Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum is continuing to lose ground in his battle for re-election. Santorum trails Democrat Bob Casey, Jr by twenty percentage points, 54% to 34%.
HAHAHA. You are so funny!
In other words, you are conservative except when it comes to continuing your free lunch.

That's a pretty cheap shot. According to most psychologists, the most difficult loss for a person is the death of a child. Perhaps attacking the way someone acted during a period of shock and grief is not the most noble of criticisms.
I mean people in the media who you need to carry the "message" that conservatives were upset.
I know that Kilgore was not a true-blue conservative. I know conservatives who wanted Kaine because they were afraid that Kilgore would have an easier time getting stuff through a republican legislature than Kaine (frankly, I agree with them enough that I'm not all that upset by the outcome -- but I voted Kilgore).
I know some who didn't like his pro-tax-referendum stance. I know some who didn't like his refusal to answer the abortion question. Others who were turned off by his attack on lawyers defending clients.
Kilgore lost because he had no coherent message, not because of some backlash against conservatives. He lost to a man who promised to throw out his principles to get elected. This is what the Democrats are cheering.
But I'm just saying that the "message" conservatives tried to send on election eve didn't get to anybody.
my point is a pro-life senator isn't going to DIRECTLY decide a damn thing regarding abortion - the Supreme Court is, and the issue would then be returned to the states. is an anti-Roe SCOTUS nominee more likely to get the confirmation vote of a senator Ridge, or a Democrat senator?
Standing and applauding your post~!
Thanks for the backup. I don't really know PD-- I guess he's an OK guy.
This onslaught against Santorum is a campaign by the pro-aborts in PA, with whom I have dealt for three decades.
We cannot let them win.
The 'Republican' 'led' Senate could use a good old-fashioned butt whoopin' and housecleaning. I don't trust any of them. Let it go back to the 'Rats for a few years. Gridlock in Washington is probably the best thing that could happen to this country. At least it would be cheaper and easier to understand than what the current Repubic Senate has given us so far.
Oh don't worry Spectre will come to his rescue *smirk*.
I think that's an open question, but I think there's a greater chance Casey would support such a nominee than Ridge.
Maybe those illegal aliens flooding over the Rio Grande will vote for the Republicans...maybe a couple of muslims might pull the lever too.
Why is this a surprise? Many of us have complained for some time the Republicans have failed the conservative revolution. I recall many crowing about how the last election was a death knell for the Democrats. My first thought was the Republicans better deliver first before spouting that BS.
Reap what you sow, baby.
and to answer to last point:
if you want to limit abortions, what you need are 5 SCOTUS members on the bench who agree, followed by pro-life governors and state legislatures. they will be the deciding factors. we currently have pro-choice republican senators, who voted for Roberts and will vote for Alito.
Anybody really believe he did this for a $2000 donation? You can disagree with his position on the bill, but believe this -- he really thinks it is wrong for the federal government to provide something in competition with the private sector.
You don't get that information "for free". It costs money to deliver it. We KNOW it costs money, because if you give the same data to the private sector, and they have every reason to try to give it to you as efficiently as possible, they will have to charge money for it.
But now, the federal government spends everybody's tax dollars to provide it to you for free. My tax dollars pay for you to get that for free. You can like that, just like others like all the things the federal government gives THEM for free, competing with (or locking out) private companies who could do the same jobs for lower cost, but couldn't get others to pay to give it to you for free.
I have no position about his bill, and I don't know anything about the PAWS bill except what I just read (which looks strange to me that a conservative who in one case fought government intervention would take a different approach on PAWS).
But I don't believe Santorum did this for a campaign donation.
Neither.
