my point is a pro-life senator isn't going to DIRECTLY decide a damn thing regarding abortion - the Supreme Court is, and the issue would then be returned to the states. is an anti-Roe SCOTUS nominee more likely to get the confirmation vote of a senator Ridge, or a Democrat senator?

I think that's an open question, but I think there's a greater chance Casey would support such a nominee than Ridge.
