I fear you are absolutely correct JMT.
That's a terrible place to be for a political party. A place where you will sacrifice 3,000 citizens to cover your political butt and then refuse to even talk about it years later.
What price political power these days?

Hagel just giving a very passionate (for him) defense of civil liberties re: The Patriot Act. Not exactly at Viagra level of passion but a healthy outlook on why we need to preserve domestically those things for which we are prepared to fight on foreign soils.

Please cite for me three specific instances where the Patriot Act has been used to infringe on Civil Liberties. Not generic "what ifs" but specific instances of real abuses.

You are so right. Funny how an investigation to out if an agent was outed ends with an indictment and a unknown by Fitz when the press asked "So was she covert?". Unbelievable... not to mention agents going to the neighbors houses two days before... If it were just a matter of Libby and obstruction with lying under oath... why would he send them out there? Fitz is still on the hunt.
Nothing said about the outings re: Ames, Russia and Cuba.

Coburn doesn't want public opinion, political philosophy or foreign law to come to decisions. Timmy is trying to make Coburn sound like a gay basher. Coburn stands up for his position.

Egads! audio/video dubbing for the Wallace/Wallace interview is horribly misaligned today.

Maybe he's thinking ahead to when the Democrats regain control of congress and the White House?

By the time that happens Iraq will be self sustainable. Despite the preceived downward spiral of Bush's numbers, the left has gained no ground. The average person sees Fat drunken Teddy bloviating on the military and intelligence, and understand that this boob doesnt have clue. My neighbor, who is in the pipefitters union and votes dem because he always has, told me the other day, that depite his mistrust of Bush and the possibility of union busting (grrrr) he cant imagine the current crop of Dems in charge of a war or another terror attack. If he gets it, hopefully my granola friends will wake up one day. But Im afraid that will take another WTC to the tenth power...!

Seems even Stephy's UBER-LIB panel all agree Alito is highly qualified, he has been doing very well in meetings. Even democraps are saying he is 'very forthright'.

All agree that he will be confirmed, and those that fight against it will only come out worse, and loosers.

And Newt puts in a good word for his gal, Hillary ;)

Hey, Johnnie, did you follow Mpls. Mayor R.T. Rybek (D) saying he does not want Hooters in Mpls. says it is not family friendly and predicts they will Fail ?

This from the same city Mayor that sees nothing wrong with the half dozen strip clubs, sex shops and gay clubs in downtown Minneapolis. Can you say "Pandering to the Feminists" Mayor?

Ah, here it is. Timmy says there's an article today in an unnamed, by him, paper that we captured an al Qaida member who gave us bum info and the Admin used it even though it knew it was false. The paper was the WaPo and Coburn says there is no evidence that the Admin had the info at all.

Excellent post.
I to feel these polls are totally meaningless and don't even get the administrations attention nor should they. GW seems more focused than ever, the rat/msm will use anything they can against this adm. but little if anything ever sticks because there is nothing there.!!!
If all this sounds familiar remember the days of Reagan.
He ignored the msm as well

I find this a very distasteful idea. I'm really not interested in watching Chris Wallace (who I don't particularly care fof) interview his father (who I despise). Who came up with this brilliant idea at Fox?

I think that some house cleaning is in order. At FNC!

I agree that polls are meaningless and am heartedly glad that President Bush ignores them. On the other hand, Clinton couldn't spit until he had a poll telling him what direction to expectorate.
