France has been detecting, or at least fearing, loyalty problems among the fifteen percent of its soldiers who are Moslem. The military insists that these second and third generation soldiers of, for the most part, Arab descent, are loyal. But many Christian soldiers, NCOs and officers are not so sure. Harassment of Moslem troops by Christian soldiers is common. There have been no major incidents of soldiers turned terrorists, but the abuse from paranoid soldiers, NCOs and officers might push Moslem soldiers to go bad. This is believed more likely because there are no Moslem chaplains. Thus Moslem soldiers seek spiritual advice from clerics with no military experience, and possible a radical agenda. More worrisome is that radicalized soldiers will leave the army equipped with skills they can use for terrorist attacks.
The article you quote from http://www.brusselsjournal.com/node/429 ("Ramadan Rioting in Europe's No-Go Areas") suggest that since the French police force is obviously overwhelmed, untrained and unequipped against a street jihad, the French PM should send in the army to stop the riots. One little detail: about 23% of the French recruits are Muslims, mostly of North-African descent (2nd or 3rd generation). Career officers are increasingly clashing with rebellious privates who want the pay, the nice uniform (works wonder on girls), but not the orders from a roumi. Cultural and religious clashes now permeate the French barrack life.
I don't think it would be wise to rely on these troublemakers to keep roumis safe from other Muslims. The French authorities know it, even if they don't dare write it in the watered down slop that passes for a free press in Paris. So nope, no army, sorry Monsieur, and the police can't protect you, so your car will burn, the buses won't circulate, stay home.
Help! I blew it.

Very interesting. So the French military has serious friction. Considering French attitudes, and the attitudes of Islamics, I am curious how they get along face-to-face. Of course, the riot should say something about that, too. FRegards....
To whomever added it, I like the "mooligans" keyword.
Roumi ? That's a new one on me.
I wondered about that one as well. In context, I took it as a term meaning "infidel", but perhaps not as tendicious.
He didn't make it through, recycled, but his words have always stayed with me.
We have a problem in our ranks too.
Does this mean that the French army will now surrender to its own troops?
Roumi meaning perhaps a "Roman". A European. Someone speaking a Romance language.
Interesting that most of the media I'm seeing/hearing are downplaying the Muslim angle or not mentioning it at all.
Hopefully it's much, much smaller. Nevertheless, I agree.
Actually, it's pretty obvious, given the fragging incident at the beginning of the war.
Ah, that makes sense.
I'm certainly no linguist.
Prolly the Moslems refuse to take surrender training.
What a gawd awful mess the Froggies have made for themselves.
I'm glad Mexico is a Christian nation.
why do the french need an army? they never use it.
I've noticed the same thing. The MSM doesn't want to cast TROP in a bad light.
And, one again, we are told that the Moslem soldiers, like Moslim civilizans, are not responsible for their actions. All this is a reaction to the crushing oppression they suffer from every single day of their life.
IOW, one can do no good and one can do no evil.
