French government in crisis mode, tries to cope with suburban Paris riots

CLICHY-SOUS-BOIS, France (CP) - France's government went into crisis mode Wednesday to deal with spreading rioting in the suburbs of Paris, with the prime minister postponing a trip to Canada and the president calling for calm.

In tough northeastern suburbs around Clichy-sous-Bois, where the accidental deaths of two teenagers last week first prompted angry youths to rampage, the hulks of burned-out cars littered streets and young men prepared for a seventh consecutive night of fighting with riot police.

Leaders at Clichy-sous-Bois' mosque prayed for peace and asked parents to keep teenagers off the streets.

The violence, which spread to at least nine Paris-region towns overnight Tuesday, laid bare the despair, anger and deep-rooted criminality in France's poor, unemployment-hit suburbs - some of them ghettos where police hesitate to venture despite proof they are fertile terrain for Islamic extremists, drug dealers and racketeers.

"Unless the nationalist right wins in the upcomming elections, France and Europe are doomed"

Dude, Chirac is the nationalist right.

We were concerned, through two world wars and hundreds of thousands of Americans died keeping Europe free. What do we have to show for it? In all but the shooting, Europe is now our sworn enemies, to hell with that cesspool called Europe. Let Europe rot in their self made bed of filth.

Dude, Chirac is the nationalist right.
The De Gaullist UMP and UDF of Chirac sold out a long time ago.
There are a number of nationalist parties to the right of UMP. In the last Presidential election, the rather unpleasant Jean-Marie Le Pen of the Front Nationale came in second place. However, Bruno Mégret lost a prty fight and split off to found the laissez-fair but Euro-skeptic and nationalist MNR The Villiers and its allied party Charles Pasqua's RPFIE would be good alternatives, but for Pasqua's corruption.
The nationalists in France should get together. I'd love to see a deal between Megret and Villiers.

Polar Bear,
The US cannot deal with Islam and China alone. WE need allies.

"Ah, so rampaging mobs of Unitarian Nazarene Shinto Mormon Muslim yoots decided to celebrate a seventh consecutive Kristallnacht in suburban Paris this evening, all in order to promote "their individual and collective dignity", of course. What a surprise."

LOL! When I hear then described as "youths" rather than "Moslems" I think of "My Cousin Vinnie."

LONDON, Nov 3 (Reuters) - British security services secretly followed the four bombers who killed 52 people on London's transport network a year before the July 7 attacks, the Daily Mirror newspaper reported on Thursday.

Intelligence officers ended the surveillance operation after deciding the men posed no threat, the newspaper reported, citing an unnamed police source.

The four young Britons went on to detonate homemade bombs concealed in rucksacks on three underground trains and a bus at about 9 a.m. on July 7.

The men -- Germaine Lindsay, Shehzad Tanweer, Hasib Hussain and Mohammed Sidique Khan -- were on a list of 100 suspected extremists in Britain, the Mirror reported.

Security services kept watch on them for several weeks before concluding they "did not fit the preconceived terrorist profile", the report said.

The BBC said last month that officials secretly filmed Khan during a 2004 surveillance operation. It was unclear if it was during the same inquiry as the one outlined by the Daily Mirror.

A London police spokeswoman declined to comment. No one at the Home Office (interior ministry), which handles inquiries about the domestic security services, could be reached for comment.

The July 7 events were followed two weeks later by a failed attempt to set off four more bombs in London. The attacks prompted the British government and police to increase security across Britain.

Copied wrong one.

CLICHY-SOUS-BOIS, France (AP) - Paris is burning. For a seventh straight night, young people rioted against police in Paris' northeastern suburbs in response to the accidental deaths of two teenagers last week. Burned cars littered the tough streets of the towns and fed-up kids threw rocks at police Wednesday. "It is not going to end. It is going to explode," said an 18-year-old who would only give his name as Amine. Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin and Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy both canceled trips abroad to deal with the unrest.

I'm a New Yorker. However, Europe is the heart of the West. We should all be concerned about it.

France isn't the heart of the West.

It might possibly be the liver, or perhaps the spleen.

"How can we ignore this threat? It is as though Satan is reaching up from hell. Islam must die."

Well put. This is WWIII and the lefties stick their heads in the sand, or even worse, attack those who are trying to fight it.

WWII started much the same way. The lefties ignored Hitler until he was killing them off. And even then, they wanted to appease.

The world our children and grand children inherit is becoming of great concern to me.

that they can't possibly fix overnight.

That they can't possibly fix AT ALL! They have neither the will, the resources nor the time to fix the problems that they've let fester for over 30 years.

France is doomed.

Another poster upstream was quite correct. They're finding that there's every little resistance to their rioting and it's only going to encourage more of it.

This genie won't go back into the bottle.

The consequences are dynamic: is it possible that secular France might become an Islamic state?

It's worse than that. What happens when they conquer Rome, the heart of Christianity???

After Andalusia, Rome is the 2nd most important target on their watch list.

But additionally, what happens when they conquer France and set up their European Caliphate, and inherit all those nuclear weapons??? And sell half the population into slavery like they did the Byzantines?

This is gonna get REAL ugly, REAL soon.

"Fortune favors the bold" - Napoleon Bonaparte

So, of course we know he wasn't French, but then again Hitler wasn't German. My point? Evil people live in France and Germany, in fact, evil people actually move to those countries to be even more evil...can we please take another look at isolationism?!

Rome, the "heart of Christianity?"

Only if you follow some Kraut wearing a bunch of robes.

Christianity is wherever its followers are.

Ursus arctos horribilis is Latin for grizzly bear, not polar.

Allies? Then look elsewhere, they are not to be found in old and decrepit Europe.
