OPERATION HERO ALERT:
Funeral Services for Seargent Evan Seam Parker
Counter-Protest of WBC
Wednesday, 11/2/2005*
South Haven Public School - South Haven, KS
OPERATION HERO is spreading word of a planned picket by Westboro Baptist Church
during the memorial service of Seargent Evan Seam Parker.
Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church will be picketing during the
funeral service for Sgt. Evan Seam Parker on Wednesday, November 2 in South Haven, KS.
This anti-Troops/anti-war "liberal" hate group will be protesting
from 1pm - 2pm outside the High School where services are being held.
The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 2pm, so Fred and his protestors are
purposely protesting during the time when most people will be arriving for the services themselves.
Please show your support for this hero!

Email Request for Counter-Protest Support at the Funeral!
My tiny home town in KS lost one of our own, Sergeant Evan Parker, 25,
died Oct 26th from shrapnel head & neck wounds rec'd in Iraq.
We just got word today that Fred Phelps (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/keyword?k=fredphelps )
plans to protest the war at the funeral this Wednesday.
Do you have suggestions on how to counter &/or turn out a huge number of active & reserve troops?
Anita and the whole town are upset, just don't need to see these protesters at the funeral of her son.
Here is the link for arrangements: http://www.arkcity.net/obits.shtml see obituaries for 10/31/05
Thanks

Somehow a "Deer Rifle" comes to mind... not that I'd propose violins, mind you!
4.D. Coordinate with local Hell's Angels/ Sons of Silence/ Mongols chapters, who would be more than happy to show Phelps and his filthy, degenerate, subhuman rabble the business end of a tire iron. Be sure to maintain plausible deniability in any such coordination.
Words fail me.
I sent an e-mail to our contact in the DC area in hope he will know how to rally those in the Kansas area.
I also e-mailed the Baptists suggesting that they PUBLICLY and LOUDLY condemn this gang of militants.
Good letter. You rock!
Here is the one I was thinking of in IN.

Get the word out about this.
Bttt
He's not a Baptist, he's a kook just using the name.
Just plain evil.
What is that e-mail addy, JA? That is the way to go: notify Southern and American Baptist. American Baptist (the denomination in which I was raised) has been leaning ever leftward, they need a warning.
I am also e-mailing this thread link to my Baptist friend in northern Louisiana.
Thanks for the ping, LUV.
Hi Dita,
Yes, you are right. They would have to be.
Me too. These a-holes are beyond the pale.I would not be able to control myself.
I am from the UK but often read the posts here as I know a US soldier who has been serving in Iraq ( thankfully he has just returned home safe and well) and I cant believe what I'm reading here that people would go to the funeral of a fallen soldier and protest. What ever is wrong with these people, have they no respect for this poor young man and his greiving family. I know that every one has the right to voice their own opinion but do they not realise that it is thanks to the services of these fine brave men (american and her allies) that they have the right to freedom of speech.Theres a time and place for everything and I certainly don't think this is one of them.I hope that these people are not allowed to get away with this as I think it's downright disugsting to even think about doing it.My prayers and thoughts go out to this poor young mans family at this sad time.....

Law would curb funeral protests
OK, I sent an email to the VFW post 154 in nearby Arkansas City, and to Dave seaton, Publisher of the Arc City Traveler, urging them to attend to support the family. Also to Arkansas City Tumbleweeds Club, a car/truck/motorcycle club.
Anyone want to call VFW 112 (316) 2655-1774 and VFW 3115 (316) 942-2281 up in Wichita? That's not too far away. I will follwup with a phone call to Post 1254.
