South Haven Public School - South Haven, KS
OPERATION HERO is spreading word of a planned picket by Westboro Baptist Church
during the memorial service of Seargent Evan Seam Parker.
Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church will be picketing during the
funeral service for Sgt. Evan Seam Parker on Wednesday, November 2 in South Haven, KS.
This anti-Troops/anti-war "liberal" hate group will be protesting
from 1pm - 2pm outside the High School where services are being held.
The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 2pm, so Fred and his protestors are
purposely protesting during the time when most people will be arriving for the services themselves.

My tiny home town in KS lost one of our own, Sergeant Evan Parker, 25,
died Oct 26th from shrapnel head & neck wounds rec'd in Iraq.
We just got word today that Fred Phelps (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/keyword?k=fredphelps )
plans to protest the war at the funeral this Wednesday.
Do you have suggestions on how to counter &/or turn out a huge number of active & reserve troops?
Anita and the whole town are upset, just don't need to see these protesters at the funeral of her son.

2.A. A GROUP FROM WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH (WBC) LOCATED IN TOPEKA, KANSAS HAS PROTESTED OR IS PLANNING TO PICKET AND PROTEST AT PUBLIC FUNERALS OF PERSONNEL KILLED IN THE WAR ON TERRORISM. THIS GROUP HAS REPORTEDLY ANNOUNCED VIA THEIR WEBSITE THAT THEY INTEND TO PROTEST FUNERALS IN ALABAMA, CALIFORNIA, DELAWARE, IOWA, IDAHO, ILLINOIS, KANSAS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, NEW YORK, PENNSYLVANIA, WISCONSIN, AND WEST VIRGINIA.
2.B. THERE IS NO INFORMATION TO INDICATE THAT THIS GROUP PLANS ANY FORM OF VIOLENT ACTIVITY AND THEY ARE NOT KNOWN TO INITIATE PHYSICAL CONTACT. HOWEVER, THIS GROUP DOES EMPLOY PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE TECHNIQUES INTENDED TO PROVOKE A HOSTILE RESPONSE OR OFFENSIVE REACTION FROM OTHERS. 4. ALL DOD PERSONNEL/FAMILY MEMBERS PARTICIPATING IN OR ATTENDING MILITARY FUNERALS SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING:
4.A. SITUATIONAL AWARENESS OF REPORTED ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE WBC AND THEIR METHODS.
4.B. DO NOT PERSONALLY ENGAGE PROTESTORS IN ANY WAY; VERBALLY OR PHYSICALLY.
4.C. ALLOW CIVILIAN AUTHORITIES TO ADDRESS ANY INFLAMMATORY SITUATIONS OR EFFORTS TO IMPEDE THE FUNERAL PROCESSIONAL

When you ride with Rolling Thunder, you ride with your head held high.
Freepers, I heard of one Fallen Hero's parent who received some very ugly comments directed toward his son from a protester's big mouth. Far more than a grieving Father could bear. The protester received a broken jaw, dislocated shoulder and a hospital stay. Fortunately the matter was kept off radar. Occasionally justice does prevail.
I've asked that question of Cindy Sheehan myself, in regard to 'hate speech'. No responses. Let me know if you get any takers.

Hmm, Kansas I think that would be Bandido territory. I dont think they would have any problem kicking Phelp's ass. 'course neither would I. I already have bail money put aside in case Phelps comes to my town.
From what I saw of demographics, South Haven, KS is predominantly of German & Irish background, with some English and Czech thrown in there, plus Native American. Probably accounts for 95% of the local populace. Tough enough.
