Per Fox News...
Excellent
Also, Lautenberg and Corzine risk alienating New Jersey voters if they oppose Alito.
And now that you can clearly see the difference, you can encourage others to not adopt the illogical and self-destructive postion that the people's right to urge the President to use his Constitutional power to withdraw a nomination is somehow equivalent to the Senate refusing to take a stand on the nominee, one way or the other, if the President continues to promote his nominee through hearings, debate and a floor vote.
Specter-"Super-duper precedents" regarding RoevWade. WTF?
Really? That's encouraging. Specter would never fight for a conservative out of principle, so I'm glad to hear he might do so out of friendship.
Exactly!
All these qualifications are good and well, but what about the columnists and pundits like Ann Coulter? Do they approve?
If not, I guess we're back to square one.
I have a $10 bet with someone here -- all I have to do is find out who that Freeper was -- he was convinced that Bush would nominate a moderate or liberal and offered anyone $10.
I love this pick -- do you think we are going to get dissenters on here now -- if we do, we sure know which way they lean -- LEFT!
He did fight hard for Thomas...whatever the reason.
She has suffered with both breast and colon cancer since 1999. Had surgeries and chemotherapy for both.
I thought the only one around here who used the pretentious adverb "uber" to modify the adjectives "right" or "conservative" got the boot a few months back?
Alas, it appears there are more of 'em.
And don't think for a minute that the voters
of America won't be watching how each of their
Senators vote on this candidate! Which of
course puts the onus on them.

Into each life, some rain must fall.
"Herein lies the strategery. I still contend that nominating Miers was designed to take abortion and religion off the table at the Alito hearings. The RATS didn't complain about Miers pro-life stance so how can they complain about Alito's?"
There is 0 evidence to support that kind of theory - in fact, all reports were that he was very dissapointed and surprised about Miers.
Howzat look?
I really want to go to DU and poke at them. 8) I've wanted this for so long, and they're all so angry about Alito. It's great. I am afraid that if I go there, I'll have to hose my computer down afterwards. I don't go to pornographic websites, so I'm not sure if I should go to du or not. 8)
Agreed. Specter will be on board or he'll last as Judiciary chair for about 24 more hours.
Alito is going to be so impressive in the hearings, as was CJ Roberts, that the filibuster option is going to die a quick death. Reid won't have the votes.
