A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest! We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
received this in my email June 10th, the author is unknown. I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

To Tell The Truth
We do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord. 2 Corinthians 4:5
|
When you think of the term evangelism, what picture flashes onto the wall of your mind? A large stadium filled with people? A small booklet with a set of diagrams? A Christian wearing a pin with the symbol of a fish? A zealous believer playing intellectual chess with a pagan opponent? A salesman convincing a reluctant person to "try Jesus"?
Evangelism is a 10-letter dirty word to some of us. While we think it's a dandy idea for others, we're sure it isn't for us. We're not cut out to sell, nor shrewd enough to play intellectual games with non-Christians.
Evangelism, though, isn't about being a huckster who cons people into buying what they don't need. It has nothing to do with grabbing people by the lapels and shoving on them a faith that goes no deeper than the shirt pocket. What a grim indictment resides in the remark, "You could identify the people she had witnessed to by their haggard look."
Evangelism is simply sharing with others what we know about Jesus. "We do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord" (2 Corinthians 4:5). No tricks. No deception. Speak the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truthin love. Then leave the results with God. Haddon Robinson
It's not our task to force God's truth
On those who may the truth detest,
But we are asked to share Christ's love
And let God's Spirit do the rest. D. De Haan
We who know the joy of salvation should not keep it to ourselves.

Does anyone else see the political scene today as
a National Game of ???
--------------------------------------------------------
There is one team called the Liberalskis, and one called the Federalskis...
The former is noted for their Machiavelian schemes in which political expediency is placed above morality,
and uses craftiness and deceit to gain authority.
The latter is based on the Founders' Principles of honoring God, Country and Family, using a framework
that allows freedom and the opportunity for personal growth, maximum security and advancement as a nation - -
--------------------------------------------------------
The major thrust of the First Team seems to be Domination through Unabashed Deceit...
"Run, George, run!!
See George run!!
Just RUN AWAY, GEORGE - to your ranch".....
In recent days, it of course is
'RED ROVER, RED ROVER -
SEND KARL ROVE OVER -
to the Grand Jury... (with a hanging noose ready for him)
--------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, the Federalskis blissfully row their boat along,
singing together,
Hang on to your front row seat,
and stay tuned for Next Week's Really Big Shew..:))

Not your usual jigsaw puzzle! .... This is different!

and from a vet:
A client brought a litter of golden retriever puppies to my veterinary clinic for inoculations and worming. As the look-alike pups squirmed over and under one another in their box, I realized it would be difficult to tell the treated ones from the rest. I turned on the water faucet, wet my fingers, and moistened each dog's head when I had finished.
After the fourth puppy, I noticed my hitherto talkative client had grown silent. As I sprinkled the last pup's head, the woman leaned forward and whispered, "I didn't know they had to be baptized."

Thanks for the coffee and Daily Bread.
When Evangelism is coupled with Discipleship and become the priority of the Church, the results mean growth - both numerically and spiritually. And, all for the Glory of GOD and His Kingdom.
To: Aeronaut
While you are sometimes "out of sight,"
we remember your saying your computer access
is limited at work now.
"Out of sight" does not equate "out of our thoughts!"
We always think of you fondly, and keep you in our prayers, Aeronaut.

Today's Reason To Smile
It's Friday!Somehow my kids knew I needed a bright red t-shirt emblazoned with blue and white lettering "USA America the Beautiful". It has now become my Uniform of the Day on Fridays.
Friday is also Field Day around the ol' homestead so I gotta go fire up the Hoover...

Big Sigh....the Marines simply cannot
allow the Navy to have one-upmanship..:))
See your Field Day Hoover

And if the bulldozer doesn't accomplish Your Mission, Dave,
I have Plan B - -
LUV W can have her son arrange for the Air Force
to deliver some daisy cutters to your address - -
After that, MEG33 is on a Navy Beautification Detail,
and will see that these are planted at your site:
