Iraqi slurs Saudi official: 'Bedouin riding a camel'
The Washington Times ^ | October 3, 2005

Iraq's interior minister lashed out yesterday at a Saudi minister who voiced worries about growing Iranian influence and Shi'ite power, saying Iraq would not be lectured by "some Bedouin riding a camel."

Ethnic tensions within Iraq's governing coalition also heightened, with the nation's Kurdish president called on the Shi'ite prime minister to step down.

Prince Faisal, foreign minister of Sunni Saudi Arabia, had expressed concern about growing Shi'ite influence in Iraq during a visit to Washington last month.

Iraqi Interior Minister Bayan Jabr, a member of the Shi'ite Islamist Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq, fired back during a press conference in Amman yesterday, saying, "We will not allow anyone to interfere in our internal issues, regardless of their political status. ...

"This Iraq is the cradle of civilization that taught humanity reading and writing, and some Bedouin riding a camel wants to teach us. This talk is totally rejected," he said.

He also took a swipe at the Saudi monarchy. "There are regimes that are dictatorships. They have one God. He is the king, he is God of heaven and earth, and he rules as he likes," Mr. Jabr said.

"A whole country is named after a family. If we open these topics without inhibitions, it is neither to our benefit, nor to theirs."

The exchange between the two reflects wider tensions between Sunnis and Shi'ites that divide the Arab world and are behind many of the problems in Iraq, including a stubborn insurgency and the failure of the country to unite in support of a new constitution.

More surprising is the flare-up between Shiites, who hold a majority of seats in the Iraqi parliament, and Kurds, who have so far been willing partners in seeking to establish a stable democratic govt.

Muslim division and disunity is a boon in disguise for the rest of the "infidel" world, which is yet to even begin to be exploited, for the common good of all.

All we have to do now is try to dismantle OPEC, and hopefully, all will see the freefall in petroleum prices. True capitalism in the Middle East crude markets.

Perhaps, if they were really upset, they'd be making fun of their mustaches and not their lovers.

In other words, you do not want to go there boy-o.

Looks like the Iraqi's are learning very quickly.

ROTFLMAO!..I don't suppose this guy has ever heard of Political Correctness. I remember the La. congressman who caught a bunch of flak for describing a terrorist as having a "diaper on his head wrapped around by a fan belt".

Bedouin riding a camel- LMAO!
Translation: goat herder who thinks he's a prince.

Just wait until the "addicted to the anus" slurs start flying. Wahabbi's were always considered corrupt sinner's since the beginnings of this Islamic cult.

I think that Al Saud minister is scared shi'teless that the four million plus Shiite's' in Saudi might just get emboldened to throw off their Saudi oppressors.

"Prince Faisal, foreign minister of Sunni Saudi Arabia,...."

So, Wahabbist lunatics are considered Sunni?

Mideast memories linger for a long time. Only 70 years ago Iraqi villages (then protected by British troops) had to withstand raids by Saudi tribesmen on camels. An entire country descended from caravan raiders and sheep thieves.

It could be worse. They could be doing naughty things to goats.

Wait, They ARE doing those things, and they LIKE it. In addition to little boys.

What do those people have against women?

It would be wrong to abuse the goats.

Throughout history, cartels have not held together.

However, OPEC is filling its coffers and they can probably withstand a sharp price drop for awhile, especially if it puts the competition into bankruptcy.

In Saudi Arabia, being called a Bedouin is a high compliment - as being called a cowboy in Wyoming. It's far from an insult.

Yes they are. They have the same roots and structure as Sunni, but are stupider. (quite a feat actually)
