NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.

The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.

After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

Lately, the method of choice for college students seems to be to fling oneself off a tall building. There were four like that at NYU last year.

Attempted suicide rates are high in some smaller towns in Iowa, and jumping is the preferred method as well. The tallest buildings are only 3 stories high however.

The University of Oklahoma was used as one of the staging areas for the 9/11 attacks. Zacarias Moussaoui took flight lessons in Norman, Oklahoma and was seen on the OU campus and using their facilities numerous times. Also, one of the Flight 93 hijacker's plane tickets was purchased online from an OU library internet terminal. Mohammed Atta was also a vistor to the Norman Al Qaeda cell.

It was apparently a suicide bomber who prematurely triggered the bomb. It was just before halftime with 80,000 people in the stands. My guess is an OU student frome a Muslim country. I am so angry I am shaking.

Are you sure? Or is this speculation? I don't doubt your word that your wife is there...but how can anyone know it is a suicide bomber??

If true, perhaps America will WAKE UP to the need of finding these Islamicist facists and doing away with them.
