The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
I just spoke with an aunt of mine who lives in Tulsa. She and her husband were at the game tonight and they saw the area marked with police tape. She spoke with one of the cops and he stated that there were "multiple devices" in the cordoned area. The cops on the scene think that the bomber was trying to attach the bombs to the parked buses when a bomb detonated before he could do so.
OK..so which tower was 'blown' up at OU that shut down service to all the games throughout Texas and Oklahoma?

My son is in Phi Kappa Sigma next to the DG house -- right across from the old bookstore.
Wonder if they consider it a Courtyard that is next to the building with the benches that you walk next to on the way to the stadium. There is a small green house right next to the building on the side facing the stadium. You can see it in one of the pictures. I don't remember a regular courtyard there like I do some other buildings on campus with the fountains. I will have to ask my son as he has taken several classes in that building. My daughter's science classes were in Sarkey's.
The traffic circle threw me too as there is no traffic circle on OU.

Threatcon raised at Air Force Academy?

As many of you know, my daughter is a Cadet at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. She's at the football game and Security Forces are out in full force and full gear. Supposedly there is a just released Al Queda tape just released showing a film of the cadets marching into the stadium with an Arabic announcer spouting threats.
They are taking this seriously and have begun briefing the Cadets. I can't find out anything on the news sources yet...
HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD ANTHING?

First time I've heard anything like this tonight. This is scarry and could have been accomplished easily. I'd really like to find out more about this angle of the story.
There was an explicit threat about goalposts, I believe, two years ago.
wonder what happens to the smoke when the pipe is shoved up a ass? Just curious. OU has had some pretty bad hazing incidents of late.
We are still separate from OKC! Open countryside every direction out of Norman going north at least for now!
i figured they were some kinda hard core types, but then again they sit and smoke like fiends. seems to be all they do...I thought they were supposed to be extra pure, or something...
Anyhow, they are decidedly unfriendly, and tend to look at you smugly, them mutter some "dirka, dirka" stuff to each other.
I tried being decent, now I just dont care.
Some of the other arabs in my building seem like they are familiar with the 20th century, there are some decent Pakistani's with British not Pakastani accents, but the majority are the embittered loafer in a really big t-shirt types.
They was close to bio lab-keep updated.
Person goes boom outside statdium in Norman OK, cops find another "device" Picking up the pieces, and detonating other device... OSU Pres states it was a "sucide" but refuse to explain or add anything else to it... report is being santized at this point I belive to prevent panic or viglante actions if reports that it was a person of Middle Eastern decent are accurate.
I have to wait and see....noooze is sole source for now.
That works for me because that is what we have been hearing since it first broke. All I know is that every federal agency law enforcement orgnization in the area is on the OU campus tonight with bomb sniffing dogs including Homeland Security.

You have got to come up and see the campus after all the building additions and remodeling. They just dedicated the addition to Price School of Business this past week. It is beautiful.
