Someone should count the number of times he says "I" or "me". Bet it's in the hundreds, LOL.

We watched Hitchens/Galloway debate on C-Span last night. It was torture listening to Dundee's finest lying his head off about the faked Iraqi death figures in Lancet, his own involvement in the Oil for Food Scandal, and his friendship with Saddam.

He praised Cindy Sheehan (mother/goddess) and George Soros's Move-On.org, and called President Bush a stupid, war-mongering right-wing dirty rotten ....., and so on. Tony Blair was not spared. He attacked Barbara Bush, calling her the Marie Antoinette of modern day politics for her remarks about the New Orleans' evacuees in the Houston Astrodome. He heaped personal abuse onto Hitchens head and played to a claque of America-hating goons in the audience that whooped and screamed and clapped the more virulent his attacks on America and the West became.

Galloway had recently returned from Syria where he had stood on a public platform and listened, apparently with approval, to Assad describe the one hundred and forty-five Syrian terrorist attacks against the Iraqi people that Assad had launched.

When Hitchens called him on this, giving the figure as slightly lower or higher than one hundred forty five, Galloway, with mincing aplomb, said "one hundred forty-five."
This seemed to take Hitchens breath away, the utter cynicism Galloway's correction revealed, and seeing this, Galloway smirked at him and at the audience, considering his correction a debating triumph of sorts.

The debate was held at Baruch college in New York City; the audience appeared to be earnest, socialist, left-wing and predominantly Jewish, which would not be unusual for this venue. What was unusual was the rabid anti-Israel/America claque sent into transports of ulalating joy at Galloway's seething hatred of Israel and America.

At one point Galloway, addressing the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, began what sounded like an almost masturbatory incantation recalling the planes loaded with passengers coming "out of a clear blue sky; but it wasn't a clear blue sky but a filthy swamp of despair that America had created..." At this point, the stunned sudience seemed to gather its wits and began booing Galloway's use of the Left's cliche excuse for allowing our enemies to destroy us. We deserve it. The booing did not quite drown out the ecstatic cheering of the claque.

Hitchens remarked that Galloway had chosen the wrong city in which to justify that attack.

But later Galloway brought the audience to its feet in a standing ovation by saying that because our troops were in Iraq we had none here to rescue Americans from the hurricane or "pick up the dead bodies of your fellow Americans."

When Hitchens tried to explain that there were National Guard troops in Louisiana, but that the President could not deploy them without the permission of the Governor of Louisiana who withheld that permission, he was jeered. "But it's in the Constitution." More cries of disbelief. Our Constitution is probably the most feared and detested document to the Left, which is why they never rest in their attempts to destroy it.

The claque attempted to shout down Hitchens, but he prevailed and told them that they could not silence him even with "your zoo noises."

I've left out a lot. I'll be looking for a transcript and if I find one I'll send you the link.

How is your father faring?

Just watched CNN Late Edition where Wolfe Blitzer showed a CBS poll where 56% of the American people whould be willing to pay more in taxes for Katrina, I was stunned because I remember yesterday that there was a poll that needed to be freeped from CNN asking the same question however, the results were 78% were not willing to. I guess they just shopped around till they got the results they were looking for.

Mr Former President, why in 1998 did your Administration scrap an Army Corp of Engineers plan to raise the New Orleans levees to withstand a Cat 5 Hurricane as "not cost effect"?

There was one story that Clinton killed the study. Nobody has provided any evidence to support that, except to say "See Federal Register."

I did some research (link below), and conclude that if Clinton did kill the study, he did so with the approval of Congress - and in fact, it appears as though the Congressional conference committee killed the study.

Donna Brazille was truly touched by GW's speech. She is from NO and whether she likes him or hates him, understands his words have meaning. When he "says" he will rebuild she knows that will happen. Unlike BJ, Kerry, Hilary or the rest of her crowd, the words have meaning and gave her hope.

no one from the administration being interviewed -- only the opposition.

A very good point. I was wondering that myself. Is this the Admins fault for not offering or the Dinosaur Media for not inviting. GW Bush has guaranteed I will vote straight Republican until I die, but I do wish they would steal a page from the Clinton Admin and send out their Admin officials as Presidential Proxies to help fight the Hate Left's Bush bashing.

You are correct on that matter, she was overheard and taped saying that she should have sent in the Guard earlier. The coast Guard does have Law Enforcement power, but they were too busy pulling victims off rooftops and dodging sniper fire to capture Marauding gangs looting the whole city.

LOL, Timmy's chat with Billy was degrading.

How embarrassing for him, I wonder what they did off camera?

MTP citing a poll that money spent in Iraq should be spent on Katrina relief. Timmy and the MTP roundtable (all libs except for NRO's York are libs I believe) writing W's obituary by listing all the problems Bush has politically and financially. He will surprise them.

It is reassuring to see that the people who are directly affected by Katrina do not blame Bush; they know the truth.

another attempt by my esteemed PM

Good Morning snugs. Maybe but it is enormously helpful in our Domestic PR wars to have one of their own Lefty Heros drive a stake thur Kyoto's heart with Billy C standing there as collateral damage. Now when ever one of the Hate Leftist starts screaming about "Bush is to blame cause he abandoned Kyoto" we can reply BUT Blair, at Bill Clinton's "Poverty Summit", said Kyoto was unworkable. Totally demolishes the first of the Leftist attack lies that were shoveled out to the media right after Katerina hit.
