Hi, all. We had a great time Freeping the Cindy Tour. I think they were a little surprised when they pulled up in their rented RV and saw all of us waiting for them. I was really encouraged at our turnout. I think we had between 25 & 30 and the Cindinistas had about 30. Since we were the first group there, we had picked which side of the Market House area we wanted. Naturally, we chose the shady side, leaving them to the mercy of the sun. The Cindinistas were also a little upset when they couldn't pull their vehicles in on the side where we were to unload all of their signs. I suggested they carry them like I did. The police must have told them the same thing as they didn't pull in to unload. Some of their group didn't even hold signs but just stood there giving the "peace sign" to persons driving by. There were a couple of them who tried to get into arguments with us but they were hustled away by the LE. The Cindinistas' permit was only for 1 hour, so we watched them leave and cheered them on their way with me telling them that "Pacifists are terrorist allies." Several persons were interviewed by the press. I know that Channel 11 had Gilbert Baez there. He never came by our side. He stayed over on the lefty side the whole while he was there. I think the media that came to our side were all from the print media. I told several on our side to check out FreeRepublic.com when they asked how we had organized. It was just a bunch of fun.
I agree that she should have taken them with her. I guess it shows how little they mean to her.
I checked the website for the Town of Chapel Hill.
There's nothing there about holding a parade or renaming a street in her honor.
It might have been in Carrboro. The two towns run together. Like I said, I could be wrong. I was just so pleased that we had so many turn out for us. I had been expecting at least 3 persons.
Carrboro's almost as bad.
I'd have loved to have gone to Fayetteville today, but I'm battening down the hatches on two of my server clusters for a datacenter power down exercise tomorrow.
Well, that sounds more technical than I know. Sorry that I didn't catch the sarcasm.
Bless you, and please accept my sympathies for your loss.
I'm sure they were going to put them in a more respectful place -- if in fact they really were Casey's (fake crosses, fake Marine escort, fake grieving mom, etc.)
He passed away last April. I let the NC Freepers know and they really did give me some moral support. I couldn't hang out with a nicer bunch of folks.
Thanks for the ping!
Great job!
I bet the stuff in Crawford was picked up by the county....
I mean, can folks just leave all kinds of stuff at the side of the road? It's a shame she left those boots there to rot or get picked up by waste management.
You did great! And yes -- it does sound like you had a party! :)
Taxman Bravo Zulu!
Admiration bump.
Honoring your husband's sacrifice.
"I bet the stuff in Crawford was picked up by the county...."
Yep! You're probably right. Littering in Texas is a big No-No!! And you know the saying ... "Don't Mess With Texas".
I can't believe this person would leave her belongings, i.e. tent, "son's boots", etc. She sure has a lot of gas money for an unemployed son-of-a-gun, doesn't she??????
Y'all did yourself proud today! Great to be able to read about what happened.... I'd say the good guys won this one!
Thanks!

I know that all along the interstates they have signs in TX saying just that, "Don't Mess With TX". One of the most striking signs we saw out there was at a rest stop in West TX. "Beware Of Rattlesnakes". My mom almost changed her mind about stopping! LOL!!! But then, up in Yellowstone, she also went around the back end of the car to get a picture of a buffalo who was on my side of the car. I finally had to holler at her that she was too close. She got her picture and we left.
Congratulations are due to you too. I read your tag line. Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate them coming from you.
Great report and turnout against the Cindy Tour!
So sorry to hear that you lost your husband in April. Take care and God bless.
Thank you for the After-Action report!
The signs are great. I know the Ditch people were disheartened to see you all there.
