9 P.M. EDT.
I live in Utah. Right on top of a fault. The big one (earthquake) is going to hit someday. Are you going to tell all of us to move? There are problems almost everywhere with natural disasters. (BTW, I do have earthquake and flood insurance.)
Bush could give them the money, but he needs to appoint people( hard line conservatives) to the areas to see how it is spent.Ask for a receipt for everything!
If you flooded, it aint getting rebuilt. Take your FEMA money and move somewhere else.
Who would insure any of those flooded properties? Who will lend the money without insurance?
My taxes should not be insuring "uninsurable" properties.
We have sat by too long and let the racism excuse get out of control.
My oldest daughter would have hugged him and then offered him a cookie.
are you kidding me? this is the method by which you want the republican party to improve its standing in the african american community? huge payouts, and Jackson and Sharpton in the oval office?
is this really your position? because this is no different then saying that our party should simply have supported reparations for slavery - to buy this support. its no different.
Galvenston? San Fransisco?
I agree with that.
What is the record for compassionate zots in one thread?
Bush's fault?
I'm sick to death of the black bashing on these threads.
Wherever it is MRMEAN lives, I'm sure the area where he lives has never received any benefit whatsoever from any oil, natural gas or products shipped into any port along the portion of the gulf coast affected by Katrina. Any petroleum based product, steel, produce, etc...never, ever has his area received any benefit.
Let's see, New Orleans is the 5th largest port in the world if I'm not mistaken which even if MRMEAN has never actually used any product to come through the port, he also has never benefitted financially from the impact of the US having that port.
(Do I need to use my sarcasm tag?)
Here's the link to the Port of New Orleans website. Quite a bit of information on the impact of the Port. (In pdf format)

I am sure it was infiltrated, but from what I read, it turns out the "filth" was not as filthy as first thought. I should try to find the thread here on FR where it was posted, but I am too lazy and tired at the moment, sorry.
What do you mean? Would you explain, pls?
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!! GOOD ONE!
I have watched them all the way through TWICE! I am watching today's hearing again right now.
Good post! Thanks.
I see you're in the crosshairs....AGAIN? ;^)
Why, of course it is Bush's fault. Isn't everything? :)
"Where is the don't bother to work, marry, and behave the way you should and we'll take care of you from cradle to grave?"
It's a package deal that includes runaway spending to include nation building (unfortunately not our nation), new freebies such as prescription plans, crappy Kennedy style education, CFR, open borders...care for me to go on? What's the real disaster is the outright fiscal mismangement of taxpayers hard earned dollars by this "so-called" conservative president. God forbid GWB get any more conservative...he would bankrupt this nation.
When the democrats take control of the White House in 2008 and the first thing on their adgenda is a tax increase you can't thank George for it.
