That one is particularly nasty.

You are correct. Many on this board have no idea what an IG does and certainly have never had to deal with someone from any IG's office. The process will be far from perfect, but you can bet contracts and expenditures will be gone over with a fine tooth comb.

"How would you rate M.Brown's FEMA response to the previous dozen hurricanes to Katrina?"Ask the folks in New Orleans how it matters to them.
Oh, and btw -- the President wasn't especially impressed this time around, was he?
To: Howlin
I'm sure they're digging up old footage as we speak from the convention center and Superdome.

200-300 billion? Where did that figure come from? I havn't heard/seen anything that high.
To: RDTF
No. I read it in one of Bill Gertz' books.

Mostly well said. The truth is a bitter pill even for some "conservatives" who seem to be caught up in the emotions of the moment. Blinded by the light?

We have the MSM crying uncle in having to praise President Bush and we have Freepers bashing him. That's because the MSM is liberal and Bush gave a Great Society speech with a $200 billion social program. Most Freepers are conservative (except the Bush-bots) and don't like socialism no matter which party advocates it.

Put me down with the crowd that isn't so quick to call some of the President's proposals to Congress "the greatest think since 1941"...
Sure, I can see points in the speech that are good for the party and likewise hurt the democratic counterpart in the sense that a bell may go off in the heads of a percentage of the impoverished as they realize that it's the party they've been led to support by JJ and AS that's been the real barrier of breaking their metaphorical chains.
But.....gifting federal land in a lottery to people who *did* have a chance prior to a national disaster and chose to be part of the entitlement machine is not justified in any way, shape or form....

Right,
Nagain and Blanko are going to get control of a HUGE chunk of the hundreds of billions of dollars; if he does not give them the money they are going to cry "White racist Bush" on EVERY TV, radio and MSM media outlet and true to form; so as to not "offend them" he will relent. How can I come to this dire conclusion? Because tonight, on national TV the President blamed the problem on, to quote him: "poverty" and "racism"! That is a flat out lie and he knows it. However, so as to not offend or continue to be called a "heartless racist" and a "hater of the poor," he said the problems were the direct result of racism and poverty.
If he does not have the courage to be honest with us regarding the negligence of Nagain and Blanko because his poll numbers are down and he does not want to offend minorities, how can we trust him to NOT give Nagain and Blanko control once they begin to pull the poverty/race card once he refuses to give them control?
