They will call for his resignation, you watch. Today? Tomorrow?

They've been doing that for 4 1/2 years now. Now, the more they scream and stomp their feet, the even MORE childish they'll look, as everyone is moving on to see what needs to be done about all of it. They'll be left behind crying and whining. Again.

Agreed. But what you and I see as strength and integrity, the left sees as weakness. He will get no credit in those circles and this will become fodder for "proving" his "admitted incompetence".

Federalism ping, the hidden statement is "We'll do much better at taking over next time".

The whole states rights thing was kind of an experiment that was turned off quite a while ago anyway.

And if he does that they will demand another apology address to the nation, maybe to blacks specifically, maybe on BET.

President Bush is a stand-up guy.

Earlier, during the crisis, after a cabinet meeting with Brown, Chertoff and others he stated point blank that the response had not been acceptable.

Of all the people, from local to federal, Bush has been the only stand up guy of the bunch.

Your lucky husband. I hope he got pics.

He must not have because he didn't mention it. He said he only met him briefly but when the Pres saw him again, he called my husband by name... Isn't that cool? He said he is taller than he looks on TV and has a handshake like a vise.

That's what I'm worried about. The spin is going to be incredible on this.

Oh, he said it...but he also had some qualifiers that included the failure of communication at the state and local levels.

Once you begin to worry about their spin and to try to react to it or counter it, you've lost out.

This is exactly how he should answer that question. Otherwise, if he'd put blame here and there then he'd have to explain that further. He'll allow the investigation to proceed proving it was the states responsibility first, also proving the Feds moved faster than ever before.

Nope, he's done the right thing, although he may not have done it intentionally. Now he can call for a FULL investigation, including all the corruption in Louisiana. Notice how it's Louisiana that's whining, while Mississippi is rolling up its sleeves and getting to work.

The president was asked whether people should be worried about the government's ability to handle another terrorist attack given failures in responding to Katrina.

What is "Hell Yes" for $800 Alex?
