However, I will echo the sentiments of others here that both Blanco and Nagin should be forced to resign or should be impeached as well

Absolutely. I'd throw in the NO Police Chief, as well. However, the wagons are pretty well circled in all camps on both sides of the aisle, so who knows what will happen.

I don't see Time looking into Nagin and Blanco??????

I think that they will--if only to keep up with Major Garrett and not be embarassed by FNC. Even the MSM is competitive and has to go public when they're forced to.

The Repubs are such ninnies. Scared to death of the dems and I am totally sick of it.

The Republicans always have, and hopefully always will, stick to higher standards than the Dems. When they caught Nixon, the request to resign came from within their own party--I believe from this president's father. Look what the dems did with Clinton. They're still discussing the meaning of "is." Until they develop a heart and soul like Zell Miller, they will continue to discuss the meaning of "is" and miss the rest of what goes on around them. Except raw power and how to screw their constituents to maintain it. And in the case of Katrina, allow them to die.

Well the Repubbies abadoned the border recently by taking the BP off and sending them to do who knows what in the Katrina disaster area..(hand out flyers like the 1000 conscripted fire fighters?)

Our major worry ought to be the appointment of SCOTUS #2 hard corps constitutionalist or lib appeasment

FEMA does have what it needs legally to be the most powerful constitution usurping tool in the toolbox..... I think Brown was actually a pretty decent fellow..it's a shame crime to see him hung out to dry on a commie lie...

imo

FEMA Chief Relieved of Katrina Duties

By LARA JAKES JORDAN, Associated Press Writer 3 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael Brown is being removed from his role managing Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, The Associated Press has learned.

Brown is being sent back to Washington from Baton Rouge, where he was the primary official overseeing the federal government's response to the disaster, according to two federal officials who declined to be identified before the announcement.

Brown will be replaced by Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad w. Allen, who was overseeing New Orleans relief and rescue efforts.

Brown has been under fire because of the administration's slow response to the magnitude of the hurricane. On Thursday, questions were raised about whether he padded his resume to highlight his previous emergency management background.

Less than an hour before Brown's removal came to light, White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Brown had not resigned and the president had not asked for his resignation.

McClellan did not directly answer a question about whether the president had full confidence in Brown.

"We appreciate all those who are working round the clock, and that's the way I would answer it," he said.

Well the news tried to imply he was fired "removed" and used that word administrative position as further clarification for a negative.

FEMA is not a mobile unit that sets up headquarters in the center of a given disaster. The headquarters position is located in WDC and there are other disasters to plan for.

Good one. If Brown had been a Clinton hold over, can you imagine the screams?

This guy messed up. He lied, he is unqualified and he underestimated the problems in NO. Granted he had precious little support from the locals, but that's another issue. Bush would not fire Brown unless he felt the same.

Don't take it out on the Republicans or you'll play right into the hands of the Dems!! The President can't keep anyone from resigning who really wants to go. Mr. Brown is probably tired of the carping, and thinks that it will stop if he leaves. He's wrong; the Dems never cared about Mr. Brown's credentials or they would have said something last year during the four hurricanes in a row in FL.

No, this was, and always has been, about getting to President Bush.

If they named Ronald McDonald to replace Mike Brown, would anything really change?

Every MRE would come with a small coke and a toy surprise.

To: Trust but Verify

Then it should be clearly for that reason, not for the reason of poor response to the hurricane.

So now magically everything will work with perfection?

No, but you will not see it on TV, so that will mean everything is A-OK.

Shame on the President and the right in general for caving AGAIN for the millionth time in the last 40 years.

Higher standards than what? Mass murder from Democraps and using FEMA as a scapegoat?

BOYCOTT DONATING TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!

Last I had heard, the resume thing was nothing more than an "official" bio contradicting some other information. It was something about "assistant mayor" vs. "assistant to the mayor".

It sounded like some PR written by a staffer.

Resume, probably, and I agree. I've been in the situation of competing with someone who lied on their application. If they had been hired over me, I was going to blow the whistle, I'm sure embarassing some higher up big time!
