But, it opens up good dialogue on our part. Are we standing by again while someone is sacrificed to quiet the left?

they will want rummy next

They have wanted Rummy all along. Evan Thomas was speculating on Monday that this just MIGHT be Rummy's fault because he may have blocked the Federal intervention to keep Alberto Gonzales from increasing his power. I am NOT kidding. I heard this with my own ears.

Hey,

I'm in Georgia, and I am hearing from non-partisans that Fema is screwing up. Trucks sitting with no place to go and rescuers being jerked around from Alabama to Louisiana. If anyone takes a hit, let it be this guy. You are a recent member of this board. Are you a recent Republican?

Republicans/conservatives always prostrate themselves to the leftist media.

Which is why the NYT bathhouse boys have run this country for 40 years.

LOL, and some here think this is about "principle", and were righteously pressuring Bush to fire Brown.

More proof the the right cannot fight the left, and are cowardly.

If he steps down, how is that the Republicans' fault? If he padded or embellished (lied) on his resume, he should step down and save the president the embarassment.

"But if you feel there is a need for mediocracy in upper levels of government just because so many Americans are mediocre, than I understand."

Good point. How many of us would honestly feel comfortable with this guy in charge of disaster preparedness if our town was the target of a WMD terrorist attack. I say can the guy and get someone in there with years of disaster preparedness experience. Make Brown the ambassador of Assscratchistan or something but get him the hell out of that position.

I bet the happiest person about this move is Mike Brown himself. The job ahead is going to be huge.

Maybe he didn't screw up badly enough to get a medal or a promotion.

MSM once again making a non-story into controversy.

Why would the head of FEMA be personally overseeing the Katrina mop-up any way. Of course, he's handing it off to someone and heading back to DC.

It'll be spun as being an admission, by the Feds, that the relief delays were the Feds fault.

You're absolutely right. They will be screaming till their neck vessels bulge...'see, we told you he wasn't qualified and screwed up.'

I could spit!

I'm stepping outside of a sec...brb.

I'm not sure what the story is here... seems to me that you naturally wouldn't leave the top agency director there as on scene commander, especially once the basic structure of the relief effort is in place.

The FEMA director has to get back to the business of the whole country, not stay on scene for one event for the long term.

If anything is odd, it is that the director was *ever* the on scene local commander.

Don't know if this is part of the story, be we are now hearing he has been completely removed from his current position.
