"... don't blame him. After the Time hit piece he's being made a distraction by the press. Funny, they didn't look at his resume when he handled the 4 hurricanes in Florida last year."
PING!
THANK YOU! Just a tired hurrican battered Floridian, with one off the east coast churning.

Seems to me most of the Background Checks for employment & references are contracted out these days. They only check the FBI database for arrests, convictions, and the like.

Well of course! I mean, if a guy apparently lies on his resume (and if Time is correct - always a big "if" - this resume of Brown's goes way beyond padding, heading more into fantasyland), gets a position for which he's horribly underqualified (approved by a Democrat controlled congress, by the way), gets exposed when he fails at his job, and subsequently is asked to step down, of course, you have to blame the Republicans, right?
Thank God you don't tend to overreact to things, eh?

Michael Brown only had four hurricanes on his resume that I can think of. I'm sure there's dozens of administrators ready in the waiting with more experience then that.
Maybe Dennis Quaid is available - he did a bang up job in "The Day After Tomorrow".

I don't see Time looking into Nagin and Blanco?????? The Repubs are such ninnies. Scared to death of the dems and I am totally sick of it. Screw the dems. Ignore them. They are digging their own political grave. Let them. For that matter...screw the press too!

Seems like we see alot of sacrifical goats on the Repub altar these days -- first, Trentt Lot, and now Brown. Seems that is the Repub strategy these days to throw raw meat the attacking MSM and DemoRats....
Not a pretty picture. Because, it distorts where the REAL RESPONSIBLITIES LIE. Especially with the city and state in LA, just for openers...the Dems should not have given their "raw meat" so easily.
It is quite possible that this Brown fella was "excess baggage" and did not perform...but the fact that goats are being thrown into the sacrifice fire at the fed level, AND NOT AT THE STATE AND CITY LEVEL, really bothers me...

...of course, you have to blame the Republicans, right? Almost as inexplicable as those folks who think Brown should actually keep his job.

The Administration just admitted all responsibility for the local problems in Louisiana with this move. I truly don't know if the man was FUBAR or not. Certainly the LA people are and they are off the hook now.

Fox is saying he will be removed from the Emergency Operations Center and replaced by someone else (REMOVED FROM KATRINA RELIEF ONLY). THIS IS JUST AN INITIAL REPORT FROM AP, FOX SAID.
To: dogbyte12
The FBI apparently forgot how to do background checks though. Don't be too hard on the FBI. Perhaps his file is squirreled away in a Chappaqua basement rather then the FBI records section.
