Byron York of The National Review had a great article yesterday about the devolution of the MoveOn Katrina Victims protest at the White House.
Dana Milbank of the Washington Post also wrote about MoveOn's troubled demonstration.
However, apparently both these fine observers of the scene had departed when the worst part of the MoveOn protest happened.
As Angelwood and I stood talking and debating with malingering MoveOn protesters, a man standing about twenty or thirty feet away from us was giving an interview with an independent D.C. journalist.
I recognized the man as a long time liberal activist from Florida whom we had first met during the build up to the impeachment of President Clinton.
Then, he was defending Bill Clinton, now he's trying to draft his wife Hillary to run for president herself.
It took a while for the man's name to come to mind. It was Bob...something.
As he was giving the interview, the man became agitated and started speaking in a loud voice. He welled up into a tirade and blurted out, "FReepers should be shot!"
I was looking at him as he said this, as his loud voice was naturally drawing the attention of those within ever-growing earshot as his decibel level grew.
Knowing he was out on the political hustings and has been on TV shows and been quoted many times in the press, I asked him if he had just said that we (Freepers) should be shot . I thought maybe he'd take it back and try to excuse himself for being so worked up.
But no, he responded, "Yes, you should be shot!"
He walked away after that. The police did nothing.
Angelwood and I left soon after. The man's name finally came to me. Bob Kunst, president of Hillary Now.
I suppose he's lucky the TV cameras were long gone by then. But there is an audiotape. There was a microphone right in his face when he yelled out, "Freepers should be shot!"
This is what the moron said about Hillary:If she will tell the truth, if she will trust the public, if she will reach the level that the public is already at as a political figure and she will come up with the answers and start now in the Senate, there will be a trust factor for her as president.
These are big IFs, Jabba the Kunst.
Careful Bob, a lot of Freepers can and will shoot back. Not something one could say of the cowards on the American left.

Well that's a funny thing about socialists and their modern day equivalents, the so called "liberal progressives". It is the idea that drives them. The idea of a government where everything is fair and perfect for everyone. The historical consequences you speak of, millions upon millions of deaths, is not enough to sway them from their idealistic quest.
They simply disregard those pesky little facts. The millions of deaths, the poverty, the suffering, the sheer brutality, and they think, "well, it's still a good idea, maybe it just needs a little tweaking". Or, they think it failed because the leaders of the movements had "character" flaws.
It never occurs to them for some reason that it is the idea of socialism itself that is flawed. They think of capitalism as being barbaric even though the results have proved to be quite good anywhere it has been tried. Yet another fact they choose to ignore.
It is amazing that they are so blinded by their idea that nothing else matters. Not history, fact, or even human life, should any of it get in the way of their grand scheme.

Wonder how fast the hildabeast will disassociate herself with this group, at least publicly? I just saw a video where a black man said we should give him and his girlfriend or whatever(who I believe was white) each $20,000 for Katrina.
I wondered when this race and welfare thing was finally going to blow up in the faces of those who continue to try and slam in the faces of people who are not racist.
