A lot of people are beginning to say that the whole "Geraldo rescues woman" story wasn't what it seems. One of them is Alessandra Stanley at The New York Times. She reports that Rivera "nudged" an Air Force worker out of the way so he could be shown on camera helping a woman in a wheelchair. But Rivera went on The O'Reilly Factor and showed videotape that proved that's not what happened. The NYT has not issued a retraction, and Rivera might sue.
Meanwhile, Stephen Elliott over at Salon says that Rivera made the rescued woman walk from the FOX news van to the heliport twice, so they could get the better shot for the camera. This hasn't been confirmed either.
What do you think? Are people being unfair to Geraldo in this situation?
I think they should go on the Jerry Springer show to settle it.
No, Whorealdo has proven to be an egotistical media hound/whore no matter what the situation. The guy stinks and is a hypocrital jerk!

They kind of did... I know that "rescue" turned me (and lots of others that night) off of Geraldo -- again. Definitely not one of his more credible moments. To have NYT get sued over the WAY they covered it is even more cool.

If the NYTimes had ANY sense of fair play or respect for the truth they would correct this.
The only term "Fluffer" I know of is used in the porn industry. Let's just say a fluffer is someone who "lends a hand".
It's not as if people believe the NYT, or care about this detail. And Geraldo doesn't have much credibility capital to claim for damages. Yeah, I agree. If I was the NYT, I'd issue a miniscule retraction in about 3 weeks, and say "Bring it on."

Gotta tell you, I've known Geraldo since @ '74 and if you are a fifty something year old guy who has mixed it up every once in a while and gave as good as you got and knew how to drink with the fellas without ending the night having everyone in the joint wanting to kick your ass then yeah, you'd get along with him.
I heard Keith Oberman say the same thing on PMSNBC last night, but perhaps he was just regurgitating what Elliott said.
Anyway, I don't normally watch Oberman, but I briefly caught what he said when I was channel surfing due to commercials elsewhere.

You got it right..the NYT is a left wing rag....and Geraldo is, well Geraldo. That said, to see the two of them going at each other would be well worth the price of admission.
Whorealdo is a glory hound who deserves all the flak he's earned.
