My kind a guy.

Not mine. The guy is an out and out liar. I bring attention to the summer of 2000 when some slimebag multi murderer was due to fry at a Texas state prison and Whorealdo in all his self-righteous splendor was standing outside the prison alongside the throngs of protestors who were protesting the upcoming deep-fry.

Whorealdo unabashedly and passionately blamed the upcoming execution entirely on then Governor George Bush due to his refusing to issue a stay of execution which is permissible in Texas.

What the Whore didn't tell the viewing audience was the fact that the soon to fry had already been granted "2" Stays of Execution, the maximum permitted under Texas state law, by Governor Bush's predecessor Ma Richards..........

Governor George W. Bush had absolutely no legal authority whatsoever to postpone the punishment the perp had coming to him.....

I know that "rescue" turned me (and lots of others that night) off of Geraldo -- again.

Were you watching FNC earlier in the day when Bob Sellers talked to Floritte on the phone (she had a land line that worked)? If you had been following the story all day (Bob saying he would try to get help to her, assuring her she didn't have to leave her 15 year old dog behind, culminating in Geraldo's footage of him in her apartment) it was really quite lovely.

I thought Geraldo's coverage Saturday and Sunday was wonderful. He put waders on and got in the water. I give him a lot of credit for that.

His coverage on Thursday and Friday night, however, was histrionic and hysterical (however, it seemed subtle and nuanced when up against Tallulah Bankhead, i.e., Shepard Smith).

Sean and the rest of Fox are now trying to bail Geraldo out of the fix he created with his emoting and other antics. I agree, I couldn't care less what happens to that dope. Frankly, I don't think Shep was far behind in his carrying on in NO either. I sure hope FOX takes a lesson from this.

Well, with Jerry being a "lawyer" and all you would think he knows Sullivan v NYT; but who knows?

I was sorry to see Brit dragged into defending Geraldo.

Other than Brit there is precious little worthwhile on FNC.

They've become CNN lite.

I saw that too. Like you I felt bad they roped Brit into trying to save Geraldo's hide. He's the only thing I now watch on Fox. The others are either too pompous (e.g. BO, Sean) or too tabloidish (Shep, Greta). I think Fox should understand their view base is not all that robust and they could lose it if they don't get away from the emotional stuff and...of course...the Aruba gig.

I assume the NYT has had its lawyers go over the story with a fine tooth comb. I also presume that the allegedly slanderous article is an "opinions" type column. Real hard for a public persona to make an opinion column actionable.

That being said, I still like seeing the media eating its own.

I think that Alessandra Stanley and Geraldo Rivera should have a mud wrestling contest--two falls out of three is the winner.

My money is on Geraldo.

I abhor both the NY Slimes and Geraldo, so it's very difficult to choose sides. Both do far more harm than good in the world.

So this is one time that we're cheering for the lawyers to make all the money ?? :)

I was raised boxing by my 6'5" 230 lb former fighter pilit and VMI grad father

I did the local Boys Club circuit.

One learns a lot....mainly how to strike and how to take punches (to a degree)

I plan to teach my lads given the chance and get classes for them.

Someone who knows even a little of the sweet science has a distinct advantage

The mustache can't sue the Slime, they're on a shoe string budget these days with the drastic decline in circulation and bad exposure from their drivel being hung out to dry by the new media. My God, this could put them under and....oh wait....Never mind. :P

It's not proper on FR but I can't help but like this guy.

Yeah, agree with both sides here. He is an egotistical, narcissist, grand-stander, but about 80% of the time he is fair. He is obviously a LE/military wannabe –you know when he is in Iraq he carries a gun. He has some sort of uniform fetish, LOL.

But all that said, he is entraining to watch, even when he is sobbing like he did Thursday night. LOL! I like watching him for the theater, at least he’s up front about his biases and ‘hot dogging’, reporters are such phonies – he doesn’t fake it.

Yeah, it's in our family too. A lot of sparring and pounding the bag in the backyard. It's still a great workout when I do it. The gym I belong to now in Great Neck has a bag but I gotta pull it out of the closet and hang it myself. You should see the sideways looks I get when I'm in the groove.
