"The medium is the messge" -- Marshall McLuhan
More to the point, reporters, who for generations have been warned to stay out of the story, have now become the story. And, hey, they always have to look good don't they? What's a little gonzo tweaking here and there? The sheeple can't tell truth from fiction anyhow, can they? I do wonder how much of this crap Roger Ailes will put up with, though.
Marshall McLuhan should have been horsewhipped. That idiotic quote is to journalism what Nietschze was to the Third Reich.
Years ago as a newspaper reporter I recall being assigned to interview a then-prominent TV network talking head. He was very uncomfortable at "becoming the news" rather than simply reporting it. Can you imagine any such reluctance today by most media people (Fox newsies like Brit Hume and perhaps a few other valiant souls excepted)? They all want their "15 minutes of fame," to again quote McLuhan.
