Aw geeze I just don't know who to root for here. I mean on the one hand the NYT on the other Jerry Rivers.
Oh well at least he actually got pictures of himself "rescuing" people unlike say Sean who only has pictures of himself in a sinking boat......
Actually, my hope is that Jerry does sue the NYT and that it is tied up in court for decades, bankrupting BOTH of them!!!!!!
Not exactly sure how to interpret that, but I liked him best after he got that chair slammed across his face on TV.
That made my day! Laughed for years. 8^)
It must be Old Home week! I'm doing great. How are you these days?
Somebody help me out
What exactly is an Air Force "worker".
I'm in the Navy. Does that mean that I am a Navy "worker".
He went on to say that with all that is going on he did not think he would take the time to do so. My take is that he will content himself with the egg Fox and other news outlets have put on the NYTimes face.
There is no indication that Geraldo knows about the Salon magazine story or if he does he has not commented. Salon is so obscure compared to the NYTimes they could probably accuse Geraldo of joining with a goat in Trafalger Square and get away with it.

Of the Journal
The reporting of Geraldo Rivera, television's magnet for controversy, is under fire again.
In an article posted Monday on the Salon.com Web site, writer Stephen Elliott says a doctor told him Rivera had an elderly New Orleans woman walk to a rescue helicopter twice so his crew could get better camera shots.
The doctor, whom Elliott didn't identify, reportedly said, "That's the second time he brought her here. They did two takes. Geraldo made that poor woman walk from the Fox News van to the heliport twice, both times carrying her dog....."[snip]
"...Journal e-mails and calls to "At Large" and Fox News weren't returned this week.
In response to the Salon.com article, MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" labeled Rivera the "worst person in the world" Tuesday night..."
The lady is on Geraldo at Large right now.
This is the same lady as the photo at the top of the thread.
If, and I emphasize if, she did two "takes" for Geraldo, she did not seem in any way hostile to him, in fact she was grateful to him for his help.
Brit and the Boys seem to be very powerful. I actually saw Juan Williams on O'Reilly this week defending the administration against accusations of racisim. He's much better when he is on our side.
I have always liked Geraldo. He ran the only TV talk show (this was back when Chris Matthews' 'Hardball' was still big) where the guests actually had an opportunity to complete their thoughts uninterrupted. No matter who the guests were, liberal or conservative, Geraldo gave everybody a fair chance to speak their piece. I always respected him for that.
Is that the same "Scarsdale" that Steely Dan mentions in 'Hey Nineteen'?
Bingo. You nailed it.
This is just another skirmish in the all-out war between the dying, socialist, "old" news media of the Democrat left versus the "new" news media of the traditional American family.
They are trying to tell Americans that they (the NYT) is so much smarter that they can see things in the video that regular people can't.
"We see mean people." ; P
If I was a reporter covering something like that, and someone needed help - I would help. I'm not the kind of person who could just watch. Whether you like Geraldo's reporting or not, you have to admit, he's passionate.
I always assumed so. It's the only Scarsdale I've ever known of.
Scarsdale was to the 60s and New York what Beverly Hill 90210 was to the 80s and L.A. They filmed several movies in Scarsdale, and set others there and filmed them somewhere else. Jack Lemmon makes a big deal about the "money trap of a house in Scarsdale" in How To Murder Your Wife. I watched Rock Hudson film scenes for Seconds right around the corner from my house. It's where Goodbye Columbus was both set and filmed (saw that one, too).
Almost all of the big NY power brokers lived in Scarsdale and commuted into the city (along with lots of "men in grey flannel suits"). I walked to grade school with the son of the head of ABC (used to stop in after school and watch next week's movie of the week). Dated (once) the head of NBC. Johnny Carson lived there for awhile, as did the CEOs of 20 or 30 of the Fortune 50.
I even was classmates with Ed Sullivan's grand daughter, whose dad was the producer of his dad's TV show. I was so jealous when she came in and told us about being with the Beatles when they did that show (we were about 9 or 10).
Great place to grow up. Truly a fantasy land. Not real good at preparing one for real life, but fun while it lasted.
Passion is not a virtue for a reporter. Unless it's a passion for Truth. Geraldo wouldn't recognize truth if it arrived carrying a neon sign. In fact, it is his "passion" that blinds him to the truth. A reporter's job is to report, not to inject himself into the story, much less BECOME the story. He is a chronicler of facts, not the central actor in the drama playing out.
Send Jerry Rivers down to Arruba for a few months to chill
