They kind of did... I know that "rescue" turned me (and lots of others that night) off of Geraldo -- again. Definitely not one of his more credible moments. To have NYT get sued over the WAY they covered it is even more cool.
Were you watching FNC earlier in the day when Bob Sellers talked to Floritte on the phone (she had a land line that worked)? If you had been following the story all day (Bob saying he would try to get help to her, assuring her she didn't have to leave her 15 year old dog behind, culminating in Geraldo's footage of him in her apartment) it was really quite lovely.
I thought Geraldo's coverage Saturday and Sunday was wonderful. He put waders on and got in the water. I give him a lot of credit for that.
His coverage on Thursday and Friday night, however, was histrionic and hysterical (however, it seemed subtle and nuanced when up against Tallulah Bankhead, i.e., Shepard Smith).
