WHY DIDN'T YOU DEPLOY THE BUSES, MAYOR?... New Orleans Lost Opportunity
WHY DIDN'T YOU DEPLOY THE BUSES, MAYOR?...
"Um, maybe because they were under THREE FREAKIN' FEET OF WATER? "
Uh, people we saying why didnt he deploy them during the evacuation *prior* to the hurricane, and/or at least get them to higher ground.
Even without that, why is he asking for greyhounds, when the state of Louisiana surely has buses galore used in public transit and school systems that could ride to the rescue.
"To say that they should have been moved to high ground before the storm is hindsight B.S."
Not really, a storm surge was expected that would flood new orleans. It was anticipated.
I agree. I heard Franklin Graham last night say that they need to take the able bodied men that are in the shelters and put them to work. Bus them down to NO and get them to work cleaning up and re-building, with pay. But at least give them a way to get back their lives. The looting doesn't surprise me, but the killing and raping does. I just don't understand. Also, I heard that the dr's and nurses in a certain hospital had to watch out for snipers while they were evacuating their patients. I don't get it.
Good pic, what does superdome look like now?
how bad it the water around it now?
What? You expect him to think too? Geez........
Did anyone hear Kanye West on NBC tonight? It was the Red Cross fundraisor for the hurricane victims.
That's like the ingrate who was bussed to the Houston astrodome and then complained about the food.
What shall we do, send her back? Send her a bill?
Apparently these beggars feel they can be choosers.
doug from upland...Nice Reporting!
Rudy, he definitely is not.
CRIMINALLY INCOMPETENT
Good point.
New Names.
Lake Ponchartrain is now Lake Blanco
NO School Buses are now Nagin Wagons.
"How many can one bus hold?"
Depends.
45 adults and 77 children.
Thanks. Mark Levin talked about the story on his show today.
Nagin squandered his moment of opportunity to be a hero; squandered his opportunity to be the spark to ignite those things that are noble, courageous, abd gallant.
Nagin, a failed hero, encouraged no one, urged no one, to "become" that legend of his time....a star to shine from this darkess and forever into the future.
Instead, Nagin's tale, and, therefore, New Orleans', is overwhelmingly one of derision, of blame, of cowardice, and of vulgarity.
He wanted NOLA to have a navy!
Just compare how this guy responded versus Giuliani's response to 9.11.01.
A lot of those busses would prolly start up and run if they're only sitting in 3ft of water. The oil pan is prolly 2-3ft of the ground, so little of the engine would be submerged. There isn't much electronics with diesel engines. The only thing I'd be concerned about would be the starter.
Well said!
ty....those thoughts have been in my mind most of today.
And it's a shame that those are the kind of thoughts we will be left with from this tragedy.
You are so right.
The morals and ethics of this man(and the party he represents) are now apparent to the entire world, and especially when compared with how Giuliani(a dreaded Republican) reacted on 9/11/2001.
These filthy mouthed self serving democrats like Nagin only keep proving our point!
