Here is the difference in a nutshell:

Guilliani and Pataki telling the counrty after 9-11:

"we're gonna do A!

we're gonna do B!

we're gonna do C!"

Blanco, Landrieu, Nagin asking the country after Katrina"

where is A?

where is B?

where is C?

"After you listen to his rant on the local radio station, you will understand from what his mentality is and who elected him."

Exactly. Maybe this will make people stop and think before pulling a lever or punching a chad. Maybe they'll vote for the most capable candidate instead of the most PC, or the one that matches their color.

That picture and that quote get loose and the Honorable Mayor better just stay away from New Orleans. He'd be strung up by his own "brothers" faster than Jesse Jackson can race bait.

I hope Bill O'Reilly picks up on this. He can be a bulldog when he wants to be.

And on occasion he has even been known to be a conservative for 5 minutes at a shot. Happened twice so far I think.

She's heading down to New Orleans now to protest our military troops dealing with the armed extremists in the city and for trying to save lives when it just puts our soldiers lives at risk.

All major cities are supposed to have evacuation plans in case of a disaster such as this.

They had a plan and it has gone exactly as it stated :

1. Do nothing and wait for federal assistance.

2. Blame Bush.

A lot of those busses would prolly start up and run if they're only sitting in 3ft of water. The oil pan is prolly 2-3ft of the ground, so little of the engine would be submerged. There isn't much electronics with diesel engines. The only thing I'd be concerned about would be the starter

Good observation. I've been thinking the same thing. I doubt that the air intakes are under water. A starter will still crank an engine while underwater too. I have had had to start a few semi-suberged diesels in my time.

You are seeing the Liberal Democrats at their Very Best.

They never have any usable ideas on any issue, the only thing they can do is obstruct and blame.

Not one Democrat down there can make a decision?

It seems that almost everyone here thought of those buses, school buses, Greyhounds and any other sort of drivable equipment SHOULD have been used. But that would require thinking and it is impossible for a Democrat to do that.

"The governing authorities in the city and the state had the revenue, the agencies, the transportation, etc."

At a bare minimum, isn't this gross negligence of stewardship over public property that the mayor and governor took an oath of office to uphold? Even if they didn't use the buses for evacuation, shouldn't they have been moved to above sea level at the very least? I just don't understand how Nagins and the governor could have been caught so flatfooted on this. In the past, every time that there was a storm in the gulf that remotely threatens NO, all we heard was the doomsday scenarios of flooding and such. Year after year. If they were in N.Dakota and got hit with a major hurricane, I would understand their surprise, but not in NO. I guess when you condition the majority of the city's population to look to the government for sustenance we shouldn't be surprised when they are unable to fend for themselves when it really mattered. I am surprised that someone who rose the the leadership position of a major US city apparently did so without any aptitude for leadership.

He was waiting for the Ken Hamblin, The Black Avenger, to get there from Denver!

With instructions for "How to be Darktown's mayor now that one is actually needed - IE your looting, Mr mayor, is now officially over -- and that of them you-all's been shaftin's about to begin!

And with Certificates of Absolution for all of the relevant folks.

"there's about 150 [buses]in that picture I bet"

I counted 237. At 60 people each, that's 14,220 people that could have been evacuated.

If the mayor is not a drug addict now (as he states) he sure will be one before this is over.
