I am thinking about loading up my dually and a 30 foot trailer with some bottled water and taking it down there and just dropping it off wherever directed near Ocean Springs-Biloxi-Gulfport or futher west if possible.

Do any of ya'll have any thoughts or have communication with anyone who would have an idead as to local logistics below Hattiesburg....I can fuel way north with a 500 mile range in tank.

please ping the list

Why does this remind me of Claudine Longet and Spider Savage?

The city is smashed to pieces and soaked in sewage and NOW he says so.

Good GRIEF, what a moron. Why can't he at least have the cojones to admit he can't handle the job and instead just resign?

First, let me say that I agree that looting is wrong and illegal.

My socialist girlfriend has a point however.

She thinks I have a lot of nerve sitting on my leather sofa in my 4 bedroom house with the CAC cranked up watching my hi-def TV...saying looters should be shot.

She says that what has happened in New Orleans is anything but typical and that these people have the absolute right to steal everything they can get their hands on in order to survive.

Many have nothing but the clothes on their back and they need jewelry and the like to sell for cash in order to survive.

They have no job, they depend on the monthly check from the government.

That's a big reason many stayed...they needed to cash the check that should be arriving tomorrow morning.

So....I have a lot of nerve judging anyone who is going thru what those poor unfortunate, unlucky folks are having to endure.

And...I think she's right.

And lastly, if American soldiers didn't shoot Iraqis during their looting frenzy what makes you think they can shoot their own citizens.

The smartest most savvy political move President Bush can make is to say looters should be ignored due to the extreme circumstances and hardships they must endure.

Let the insurance companies replace it all.

Yeah premiums go up, but we'll get a few more votes from people of color.

And anyway, the MSM will have a field day showing video of American citizens being shot in NO, when lotters were ignored in Iraq.

Life, liberty and property are the three things I respect the most. I'm shocked that you would have compassion for these LEACHES just because some broad has p---y whipped you.

Methinks you should ditch the bit...

"let the governor of that state issue the shoot on sight orders. Bush needs no part of the media smear that would accompany this by federalizing it."

I'm no Bush fan by any stretch but that's a good call.

Oh my gosh...could it be this devious? Could the governor and mayor have delayed PROTECTING the innocent, the suffering, the unarmed BECAUSE they wanted to force our President, to once again play "daddy" like he had to in ordering the gov and mayor to declare MANDATORY EVACUATION (which they STILL hesitated doing, choosing to suggest it instead until Sunday, the DAY before Katrina hit), in HOPE that the President would have to take the fall out from the PC crowd, ie the ACLU, screaming out about 'nooooooooooooo miranda, this is NAZISM, this is unfair...blah blah blah...???

This is NOT about hungry and thristy people taking WATER, or FOOD, or dry clothing, or medicine from pharmacys.....

This is about genuine thugs, patroling the streets with AK-47's, stealing jewelry, and fur coats and techo equipment, and staking out turf, and terrorizing hospitals and nursing homes etc....this is about PEOPLE who can no longer deal drugs and are probably in various states of withdrawal, some psychotic, who are armed, are free to victemize and threaten, have shot a policemen...including the policemen caught on the roof, unarmed, who were SHOT at during the night.

These are crazy, demented, lazy, addicts and their gangs who have terrorized blocks and blocks of NO and are about to meet up with their just fate.

Blanco and that mayor along with Landrieau...the ONE person who should be savvy enough to advise these two immature, inept elected officials in her state....are pathetic. No amount of tears in their eyes will ever wash away the lack of vision they have demonstrated...worse..their lack of leadership AT THE TIME IT WAS NEEDED MOST!

Wasn't Blanco put into office as her husband died prior to the vote? Was she not drafted to take his place....with NO CREDENTIALS intact? In fact...didn't they leave her HUSBAND'S name on the ballot? The democrats MAKE ME SICK. Or do I have her mixed up with another dem scam in some other state?

LOL!

I respect life, liberty and property as much as you do.

What has happened in New Orleans is Armageddon to the majority of people. What happened is not a looting in retaliation for an asassination (sp?)or a police brutality.

It is for survival. Until you walk in their shoes, don't judge them. That's all I'm saying.

Endless video of people sitting around, or looting. Then a brief aerial photo of the burst levees, with no-one in sight. Even Hollywood does this better. Get some of these people off their a$$e$ onto sandbag lines.

Obviously a lack of leadership.

It is better to get them doing something construtive. Even if you have to pay them to do something in their own self interest.

Until they're shot like rats, I'll believe it is a hack PR stunt for the TV crews to report.

Bull.

Shooting at sitting duck policemen on rooftops who were trying to find frightened people CAUGHT in their homes, and GOT nailed themselves when the waters rose...IS NO SURVIVAL... it is TERRORISM.

And screaming out at elderly people in nursing homes, telling them to get the hell out, stealing their food and ransacking their possessions IS NOT SURVIVAL...it is TERRORISM.

And TYING to BREAK into a children's HOSPITAL to STEAL DRUGS is not SURVIVAL...it is TERRORISM.

And shooting at UNARMED PEOPLE is not survival...it is TERRORISM.

And for President Bush to say let the looting go forward and don't try to stop it, per the suggestion you make in the post before the one I am responding to, IS NUTS!

It figures you wanted Elian sent back to communism after his mother lost her life trying to provide him with a life away from Castro and all the hell that provides.

I don't believe you support President Bush, one iota. My guess, you think you are a patriot and take on that name, but function as a liberal.

Do you protest with the DC Chapter against the Code Pinko's?

It is high time......there were reports of guns & AK47s looted from stores & roving mobs of armed looters.

Pray for the poor people of New Orleans!

I agree. I've been poor, and I've known way too many honorable poor. Predators deserve to be shot...and unfortunately, NO has had too many of them a long time.
