b) Every such regulation or order shall be posted in conspicuous and appropriate places.

Then don't post any notices to the governor's face--she hasn't been showing it lately! thanks for the info , raygun, appreciate it.

Dude, our country is reputedly a nation who's foundation is that of the rule of law, i.e. "We the People..." have bestowed to the government the right to govern us, and we concede to the government certain enumerated powers. If the law says these things must be posted, then they must be posted. Moreover, its not the Governator that needs notification, its the people in Waterworld of the corporal punishment that's about to be meted out unless they stand down. We as a nation can not tolerate a bunch of scofflaws running amok in the midst of a disaster zone. That is by definition a dissolution of "civilization." Whatever may be waxed poetic about the multicultural Big Easy (and its contritions to the various arts e.g. culinary, musical et ali), now is the time for all good men to pull together for the common good (with the help of the Spirit). When the rough gets going, the tough get rolling!

This will hurt you more than it'll hurt me. Oh, wait, did I get that wrong?

Frankly, I see the convention center as nothing more than a VERY large airliner. It's pure contemptible BS to hear that the NO police are being beaten back. Woe be them, eh? I've seen 'em in action for Mardi Gras, its not like these guys are inexperienced FNGs. Is this a hostage situation? It raises interesting speculation behind the why concerning rumors that've recently surfaced respecting the reputed appearance of Delta forces in the area. If they are there, their mission IMHO is not to deal w/looters (if such are encountered, they'll be dispatched w/out a millisecond's hesitation). Talk about Machiavellian, Delta force will allow nothing to jeopardize their mission.

I agree,But is it right to rob homes of valuables

If you flee and leave your iPod sitting just inside the window, and I know it will buy me and my family safe passage out of a dangerous place, I'll take it in a heartbeat. And when sanity is restored, I'll buy you a new one and set up an account so you can download your favorite songs.

I agree that theft is an evil. But when people are at risk of death and you have the means to save them by stealing, failing to do so is the greater evil. Life trumps property. The sin of omission is the greater sin.

My personal yardstick is that I won't do anything I wouldn't sign my name to. If something is morally right, then it's worth the price, and you sign on the line and pay the check, whether in restitution or even criminal penalties. If you try to avoid detection, you know it's wrong.

Of course, it's easy for me to make these overblown moral pronouncements, because I've never been face with that kind of decision. I hope that my actions would live up to my ideals. But before that, I hope I will never face that kind of decision.

shoot people

Only in defense of self or other. Not in defense of property, unless that property is essential to preserving life -- e.g. if I were one of the stranded souls in NO right now, and someone tried to steal my supply of drinking water, I'd put two center of mass, and one in the forehead if he didn't drop fast enough.

and rape.NEVER!

With you 110% on that one. There is not, and cannot be, a justification for rape.
