President Bush to address the nation on Hurricane Katrina

Announce a halt to all foreign aid.

Announce this halt to foreign aid is permanent.

Announce a withdraw from the UN.

Start taking care of America, not the rest of the globe.

Liberals would scream themselves red about that too....

Well stated. Some that call themselves "conseratives" are much the same... oviously by "some" freepers.

It's the old damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

We are not in danger of running out of gasoline in America.

Perhaps not today, though your hometown may well be another case. And if we don't cut back on our consumption--which we won't, if prices aren't permitted to rise sufficiently--then America may very well will be in danger of running out.

What do you think the price mechanism is for?

EPA rules toughened under a Clinton Executive Order and the RATs stalling in the Congress.

President Bush has had so many thinks happen during this term, I must say that credit must be given to someone who can lead our country through all this and not crumble.
On another note, does anyone notice that summer always seems to end on a really bad note lately?

And the regulations got tougher under Clinton which has led us to what we have today.

Maybe now we will get some action and show the DemocRATs to the obstructionist they are.

2. 1O new refineries will begin construction in the following red states...
3. One blend of fuel may be used across the USA.
We can dream!

My solution is increasing supply by allowing more offshore and ANWr drilling, reducing formulation requirements, building more refinery capacity. We can reduce the consumption side by burning more coal and building nuclear plants while weaning ourselves from nat. gas fired plants.

This will likely end up dwarfing 9/11 in terms of lives & dollars :-( ` ` `

Even though the President is limited in doing a whole lot because it's SUPPOSE to be the Governor that makes the calls in their State first and then the President

I'm just glad there is someone that can help those people down there

I am beyond ticked off at how the NO Mayor and the Gov. of Louisiana handled this all

I don't give a flying hoot what party they are from ..

THEY FAILED THEIR PEOPLE!!

Oil profits have tripled since 2002.

Exxon Mobil profits rose 32 percent in the second four months of 2005. That amounts to $7.6 billion for a company that is debt-free with $25 billion on hand.

British Petroleum profits are up 38 percent, $6.7 billion.

For Conoco Phillips, the numbers are 56 percent and $3 billion.

I don't think the oil companies or their downstream refiners are suffering.

But the environmentalists had no grounds for lawsuits until the environmental justice eo was signed.

Americas freedom and system of law has been harmed by the EO and it should be revoked.

I constantly hear that it's just democrats that attack personally when they know that their defense of position is weak. Thanks to everyone for getting suckered and showing your true immaturity. I thought that one could offer criticism and not be attacked. You are right about one thing. This STUFF can't be discussed without juvenile emotion surfacing.

Some people bitch that Bush talks too much about God. Then they bitch because he doesn't ACT like God in these kind of situations. Some people just like to bitch.
