President Bush to address the nation on Hurricane Katrina...has flown by the damage on Air Force One on way back to D.C.
So they basically believe this is THE perfect Rovian Storm come to life.
{shaking head}
Many of our stations our running out. Our supply has been totally cut. Lines are long, and pumps are empty. It is bad.
Same here, I have half a tank, if I recall everyone rushed to fill their tanks after 9/11 after everything calmed down it went back down. We went from 2.74 to 3.30 although some stations are still selling at 2.74 but the lines are long!
Supply and demand.
I heard yesterday the reason the price is jumping is because the stations are charging what it will cost to refill their storage tanks so we can all pump gas. We have a wide variance of price here in Norman depending on who supplies the gasoline.
Is that 5:00 p.m. Eastern?
NOPE---my anger is placed right where it should be...at YOU!
I'm sure they will deal respectfully with them when the hope of finding and rescuing survivors diminishes. Limited human resources for search and rescue require prioritizing the living over the dead.
I hear he's going to unveil an emergency guest worker program to bring in an additional one million Mexicans to help with the clean-up, because Americans "won't do clean-up."
I personally know several former Station Coos Bay crew
that are in the path of destruction of Hurricane Katrina.
The Coast Guard has bases in these areas.
Coast Guard nationwide is sending supplies and crews also.
Also the Coast Guard Auxiliary in these areas are doing their part.

I'm gasping.
;)
We'll know soon enough if this is true. If it is, expect an avalanche of lawsuits from envirowack groups and blue state leftist attorneys general to blanket the federal courts immediately.
I know my American ass ain't interested in doing it myself.
What's making me crazy is that the mayor of NO is not up on I-10 telling those people what to do. What are they thinking? Drop them some intructions. They need a total rehaul of their local government.
Calm down. I understand they're picking up the dead bodies in Mississippi. I guess what I'm getting at is they should have planned for this in the frist place. This has been a cluster-you-know-what from the get go. I want to know who is in charge of this fiasco, top to bottom. There is no excuse for this in this country. NONE! It's almost embarassing.
If that's the kind of human one has to be to get wealthy, I'd rather be poor.
You have no clue as to what this President has been doing -- without his calls to the idiot Governor and Mayor of NO, there would have been no mandatory evacuation. He had FEMA on the ground and declared this an emergency BEFORE the storm hit.
The Navy has ships at sea now on the way to the Gulf. Supplies are flooding into the area, Coast Guard is working overtime to rescue folks and the Coast Guard is under the Command of the President.
As always he will speak when he is good and ready and has all the facts and a plan on what comes next. Did I forget to mention this morning he signed off on the strategic oil reserves being released? A lot is going on behind the scenes our stupid media doesn't report but they sure like to take swipes at the President.
Until he is good and ready, some folks like you need to chill!
Governors and mayors must take responsibilty
FIRST & FOREMOST!
In NO & LA, they have no plans and haven't
done anything to get water to the people.
They should have gotten this organized by
now. All they did was cry to the prez. He
immediately ordered funding to them.
MS & AL (& their leaders) are fairing much
better than LA.
You have without a doubt posted the stupidest comment during the month of August. And you're definitely a finalist for all of 2005.
You border freaks just cannot and will not give it a rest. Even during devastation you scramble to get your cheap shots in.
Hey, let me try one.
The president has me guessing...
So does tying your shoes.
