I was just on that thread that said the dome had to be evacuated. Admin pulled it, said it was false?

Thanks...:-) I knew someone here would know. I didn't understand a lot of your explanation but I surmise that your answer is "yes"?

Doesn't she think that is a little bit late in the game? How do you evacuate all of these people.

NPR said there are rumors of floating corpses, but said none have been confirmed. Streets are largely impassible, trees and shrubbery everywhere. In the Marinie neighborhood, they reported on one looting, the women getting food for their hungry families and the men getting beer. City authorities are calling for evacuation, the NG is to pull trucks up to the Superdome where now about 20000 people are.

Frankly, I think we're just beginning to see God's Judgment

In the grand scheme of things, Katrina is a reflection of the perfectly normal and routine functioning of the atmosphere and the Gulf of Mexico.

I have been saying that it appears from earlier reports that the whole grand strand of Casinos was devastated, but even though I have tried to explain it, nothing can illustrate it better than a picture showing a casino washed across a highway.

While the Katrini story is incredible, the world moves on. Thank goodness Fox gives us a reprieve every now and then from the horror. I think you need to get a life and out in the world a little. Sheesh.

If the oil is not coming into this country, there will be a world wide glut on the market. Oil prices world wide will crash.

That's the one benefit I can see in the arithmetic. It might be enough to break the back of the speculators and bring the price down hard for a while.

Of course, that won't drop the gasoline prices in the US market, unfortunately. But it may hurt those inflating the price beyond the already-high market.

I've been thinking the same thing. I'd gladly put up a family. We are empty nesters and have extra room.

I saw Shep at 3 for a half hour

Shepard Smith? I thought he was on Fox or did he switch over, like a trade for Bill Hemmer? I don't get Fox here.

I think at 3 ET is "The Situation Room" with Wolf Blitzer.

The first thing I heard on CNN was Jeanne Meserve choking up about some of the things she'd seen--dead bodies floating in the water, animals being electrocuted--and how her photographer had been working all day with a broken foot. It was very heart-wrenching. It made me pause and realize that while they may be better prepared than some of the residents and tourists, and better able to get out, but they're suffering the same horrific conditions as everyone else.

The opinion on this board is basically universal that Fox's coverage of this story has been utterly incompetent and CNN's has been far better. None of the people saying this are CNN employees.
