I've been thinking for a couple of days now about the whole "get Karl Rove" thing that was happening just 6 weeks ago and how it relates to this August.

As a coach, I sometime run schemes that are specifically intended to "clear the decks" so that I can accomplish my goals unimpeded.

I think that the effort to get Rove on specious data was specifically intended to remove the architect before the August Sheehan onslaught.

Further, I have to wonder if this Weldon stuff is the political response to a brutally unfair attack.

September 8th, he makes the speech...and on September 11th, the Sunday morning talk shows will all be talking about it. Meanwhile, the other news outlets will be running stories about the 4-year anniversary of the attack.

Explain to me just how revealing the whole story tomorrow (for those who would have a temper tantrum otherwise) will enhance our security or understanding significantly, as opposed to revealing this when Congress is in town next week when they will be able them to deal much more effectively with it.
