Why would saying that Weldon is like McCarthy a smear? Joe McCarthy was a great man, whom the damned Commies/Dems have smeared, trashed, and lied about for decades.

The people comparing Weldon to McCarthy are not saying it in a positive way. They're using standard liberal tactics. But people like you and I truly know that McCarthy was a hero.

I was around doing McCarthy's era and later lived in Wisconsin for 15 years. Wisconsin has/had many wacko politicians and he was one of them. Wonderful state, great people, but nutty politicians.
