Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

She's a liar. Plain and simple. She's hoping no one notices.
They get a hell of a lot weirder when they are detoxing
You've got a point there. Been awhile since I've seen someone picking at invisible spiders in the air.
They can get aggressive too. Alcohol is a good drug to have around in emergencies. I hope they are stockpiling what they confiscate.

Therefore...the official forecast brings Katrina to 115 knots...or a category four on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale. The GFDL is more aggressive and calls for 124 knots and 922 mb. The FSU superensemble is even more aggressive bringing Katrina to 131 knots.

I think he's stunned.
Like I said earlier - he's new.
He's stuck with the inaction of the previous administrations, and he was basically getting advice from those trying to cover their backsides.
Are you sure it wasn't wenches? No matter they would be confiscated too.
OMG--thank you!
Haven't we all? Hope your pastor keeps coming to FR -- having different viewpoints and discussing them is what makes FR so refreshing -- bigots and all.
Keeping all of you in Katrina's path in my prayers.
It was Friday afternoon when she asked us all to pray.......FGS!
Weather conditions at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans:

No more dry air to weaken; flood and tornado watch;eyewall still moving northwest;18-25 ft surge from the east pushing water into the lake;rain up to 5 inches per hour south of N.O.;huricane force winds hitting land now; 40 mph in city;shear markers noted--ripe for tornados;may have a new eyewall forming causing strengthening;100 mph winds about to move on land;eye zig-zaging now southwest of river mouth;Venice winds gusting to 75 mph;northshore and BR looking good for travellors; in two hours NO weather will rapidly deteriorate.
There sure are a lot of cry babies around here that like getting people banned. Can't wait till they become the target someday.
You're very welcome!
And you're right! It is going so fast I can't even answer.
By the time I get back to the thread.....I'm already 50 or so posts behind! ;-)
NO now up to 40 miles per hour winds. The eye is now west of the mouth of the Missisippi. The east turn that was hoped is not happening soon enough. It is about two hours out to the beginning of real damage to the bowl.
OH NO I thought that green bean casserole was a southern dish that you only had if someone died.
P38's belong on all keychains.
