Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

That graphic is getting a real workout tonight, eh what?
Sorry, folks, that's an inside joke.
I'd love to see some of those ancient buildings. It's amazing what they were able to build without computers and modern machinery.
I'm staying positive, I the engineers must have designed the Dome to hold at 200MPH, but I don't think they ever envisioned a direct Category 5 strike with 190MPH gusts.Unlikely; the force exerted wind follows a sqare law effect - quadruple the wind spped and the force is = 42 or sixteen times greater ...
They are going to suspend you for that one....your bad.
Can she get to the Superdome?
See this one

Mayor just tells Geraldo - "it would be a shame if we lost the city"
I like watching Geraldo too! I still wish he was down in NO out in the wind and rain. It cracks me up when the reporters do that.
Was that before or after Meadowbrook? When his story got the gubmnt to release all the psychos out to the street and our "true" homeless problem emerged? Just wondering. V's wife.
Well, people don't carry that much stuff into a game unlike today. So there's a lot less to check for boooze and guns. Also, I'd guess that at a game you have a lot more employees available to man every entrance while today it's just the cops and Guard (and I guess city workers). Gate workers at a game also have a lot of experience at getting people in quickly since they do it so often.
It is in my blood. I am a teacher what can I say.
I bet since they're letting the cigs in, there'll be 'smokin in the boy's room'... lol
Ah, I missed seeing that. I was just going by what the FEMA chap said. He specifically mentioned that they'd received 15,000 MREs to feed the folks.
I saw Brian Williams outside the Dome a little while ago, though.
