I read that in my morning paper...and ya' know what? What they're doing now really isn't any different than what they've done for previous veterans. Think about it...

And I suspect if you were to ask any vet they'd say something similar. Quonset hut, only one floor...all the way down at the end, on the left, the only single bed (for 'cruits) in the building. Caught all kinds of flack, everyone else thought I was getting special privileges from the Drills, or something. Not.

Are things going well with you? I've had you in my thoughts and prayers for awhile now...
Thank you for those prayers!
Things may be going a bit better. I just received an e-mail and it's looking like I'll be getting enough work to carry me through another month. Now all I have to do is muster the energy to get the work done.
In other news, my daughter and the grandkids came here last night and we went to Bob Evans for dinner. The MHABGSITW reminded me of a "naked page" I'd done for him. I'm not so good at spreading craftwork out across a table and pasting things together anymore, so in his case, I'd created it as a Web page (in 1999, no less!) and then printed out the results. Over the weekend, he'd reread the page again and brought it up while we were waiting for our order. Of course, now the MBABGDITW#2 is jealous that I haven't yet done a "story about her" page for her. I guess the "coloring" I did putting all three of them into movie posters, etc. doesn't count. So her page, and linking the others to Star's article is now on the agenda, too. (The MBABGDITW#2 knows that it helps to give gramma "hints" while she's sitting on my lap.) ;)

The MBABGDITW#2 knows that it helps to give gramma "hints" while she's sitting on my lap. I think that's something that all grandkids instinctively know! You know that once you've updated the naked page for the MHABGSITW and created a new one for the MBABGDITW#2, you're going to get a request from the MBABGDITW#1 for her own page, too.
Face it, there's no rest for the wicked...or grandparents.

Do you know why we don't hear about this in the news? Because it is heart warming and praise worthy. Sad, but true. How did we get to this state of affairs, where we cannot publicly share national pride? This is a profound salute to our troops and to the SUCCESS of their mission.
I corresponded with a soldier in the 4th ID, Iron Horse regiment, during OIF1.

I have seen both of those handsome young guys before and talked to them in my store, but didn't realize till later that evening that it really was him (them)! The mistake I made was in not asking every guy who came in that day if their name was John! Won't ever happen again! Come back, John!...and son of John!

Sounds like you are getting good at tearing down, moving, and reassembly. Practice makes perfect. LOL! Not only that, I'm getting ready to do some internal rearranging of boards and devices while I have it down...now's the perfect time to put a USB2.0 board inside with 4 ports instead of the two I have now.
