In the run up to the liberation of Iraq a bunch of Mn. Freepers were going to meet at a rally here. Aeronaut & I were waiting for the others to show up. (The fact that no other freepers showed up is the subject for another day) This young guy waled up to us and asked if we were vets, Then thanked us, I must admit I got a little lump in the throat(I'm thinking it must've been a cold coming on).

On the AP wire this morning the panel on base closings voted to keep Sub Base New London open. So the Nutmeggers in Groton can go on grousing about the Navy and warning their daughters away from scalawag sailors for another decade.
