Supporters of U.S. Involvement in Iraq Plan Caravans to Texas

Move America Forward will be conducting the “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” caravan beginning next week. It will feature military family members who have loved ones serving in the war against terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan. The delegation will be led by Deborah Johns of Marine Moms. (Her son has served in Operation Iraqi Freedom).

Main caravan leaves from San Francisco, California on Monday, August 22nd. Other caravans will depart from around the country. If you want to be part of a caravan, email us with your name and location you will depart from and we will include in our caravan coverage so people in your area can depart with you.

Everyone arrives in Crawford, Texas for a giant “We Support Our Troops AND Their Mission” Rally on Saturday, August 27, 2005.

I believe it is near Traver.

I've seen it several times but will need to check it out for easy access. There may be another area which would be better. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you catch Rush today? I didn't get to listen to it all, but I did hear the caller who was at Cindy's "event" (during part of the time Cindy was actually there instead of at her motel room). The caller told about a mother and sister of a fallen soldier who were there trying to remove the cross with their son's/brother's name on it. They didn't want that cross to be a part of Cindy's protest of the war and other rants. The caller said that Cindy's group surrounded the mother and daughter/sister and had the sister in tears because of their "baby killer" chants against her brother. (Anyone who doesn't think they've pulled out the same rule book from the first time they got by with this crap is delusional!)

I plan to grap the mp3 of that segment later so I can listen again! Sometimes we need our anger!

I know there is a northbound rest stop before you get to Fresno, I think it is near Riverland. Don't know about southbound.

6:00-8:00am Melanie Morgan KSFO

8:00am Press Conference in San Francisco

8:00-10:00am En Route to Sacramento / Press Event in Vacaville

10:00-11:00am Sacramento Media Appearance

12:00-1:00pm Press Conference/Sendoff

9:00-12:30am En Route to Fresno (up dated to 1:30/2:00pm En Route to Fresno)

That is the schedule for Monday.

I am going to hook up with the first leg of the caravan, and document it through Vacaville to Sacramento and then shoot ahead of it to Fresno. I think it is about a 2+ hour drive from Sacto to Fresno.

I don't see anything planned for when the caravan gets to Fresno late afternoon, but maybe they will have something planned by then.

I am waiting for a reply from Robert Dixon at Move America Forward for help organizing something.

Welcome to FR. And to the world of the leftists. I used to counter protest the anti-war lefties every Saturday with my best friend and our children. They would threaten our children, throw things and curse at them. We've been followed after the rallies by lefties trying to find our homes and had to drive to the police station at which point the cowards would turn back. I've written letters to the editor and received threats after publication. They have attempted to assault us physically at rallies and only the police presence prevented them.

These are sick, vile, evil, angry people. Be wary of them. But don't let them keep you silent. God bless you.

The only Rest Stops on Southbound 99 that I'm aware of are located just south of Turlock and the one near Kingsburg.

We're headed for Central Oregon that weekend - otherwise I'd be there with signs and Old Glory to greet the Caravan.
