A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

What if it were really true? What if you woke up one day and money really were no object? How would you change your life? Would your life change? Would it be better? Worse? Can money really buy happiness?
Let's *play like* today (and tomorrow) we can have absolutely anything in the world that money can buy. Money's no object. What would you buy? Pretend we've already saved the world with our vast wealth, and now we're ready to spend it foolishly and selfishly. :)

Would you buy a bigger house?

How many of these would you own?

Vacation around the world
You have a summer home, a winter home, a beach house, a bungalow in the mountains.... You travel to exotic, faraway places and stay in nothing but 5 star hotels and resorts.
AND...of course, only the best tables... in the very finest restaurants will do.

Wow!! :) Thank you. :)
I'm a simple kind of person. I love our home, but since my mil has moved in I feel like a prisoner. I would put on an addition and hire a companion for my mil's I need constant attention addiction.
I would continue to cook for her..help her with showers..wash her clothes, etc....I enjoy that, but someone else has to do the tap dancing
It sounds like you could use a little getaway, lysie. Come go shopping with us - buy your mil a good book and a box of chocolates. Or her own computer? Introduce her to Windows Solitaire!
I wish you had the guest quarters/mother-in-law addition. It would probably be good for ALL of you.

Good afternoon, I only stayed at my quilt guild meeting for about an hour, they were hand dying fabric and I don't have much use for it as it's so much easier to just buy what I want.

I wasn't born a Paris Hilton, either. One of my favorite teachers in high school wrote in my yearbook "May you work hard for everything you get."
I often wonder if he cursed me with that by writing it. LOL What an odd thing to say, unless he was just encouraging you to be the best you can be and not settle for anything less than that.

Just Ducky!
Id buy up all the Dollar Stores,
Its just to corner the market!
And then Id purchase real estate,
(Ill need somewhere to park it!)
With all those armored cars and trucks,
All lined up in a row,
Youd say, Well, this is fine for ducks!
But Id be down below!
Id be down in my deepest vaults,
Improving my vigor and vim.
By piling all the wealth in there,
And enjoying a little swim!

Let's go SHOPPING!!!! We'll hop on my jet and zip out to Beverly Hills. Shopping, lunch, more shopping, dinner, theatre.... Oh........yes!! Throw in a coupla Margaritas and I'm there!
Cute thread today, Billie! I'll play....If money were no object, I would live in the "Owner's Suite" on a cruise ship and sail the seas several months of the year, the rest of the time I would tour exotic ports of call....that is, after I had saved all the innocent children and animals in the world. :-)
Welcome Rammer! I have added you to my ping list.

She doesn't read.
I'm not interestedThe 'puter makes me nervous.
See...they are alone things for her to do. Can't have that. She doesn't knit, crochet, sew, etc. I tried teaching her latch hook...nope, not interested.
We put in a flower bed for her...today she spent less than 5 minutes outside. She won't even get on her telephone to call friends. Why? I have no idea.
Sooooo, I give up.
Shopping, huh? May I buy lumber for the new addition? LOL
Let's see...since we live in a one story ranch I think I would raise the roof over the garage. That would be a room about 22x22... plenty big for a master bedroom and bath. We'd attach a small screened in deck so we could look at our 12 acres from a different view. Ahhhh!! That's much better.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Having a presidential library set to go, as well as our joint legal defense fund,
which can collect millions in unlimited cash donations, didn't hurt either."

Wanna take bets how long the companion would last before she/he slit her wrists? LOL

It's not too ambitious if you like what you're doing. I'd do it for a year or two only though. What kind of training are you talking about though? For a particular sport, or to be physically fit just 'cause? And then cut back to what - an hour or so a day?

Afternoon, Gail - that does seem like a lot of work when you can probably find exactly what you're looking for in a craft or fabric store.
