A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

What if it were really true? What if you woke up one day and money really were no object? How would you change your life? Would your life change? Would it be better? Worse? Can money really buy happiness?
Let's *play like* today (and tomorrow) we can have absolutely anything in the world that money can buy. Money's no object. What would you buy? Pretend we've already saved the world with our vast wealth, and now we're ready to spend it foolishly and selfishly. :)

Would you buy a bigger house?

Vacation around the world
You have a summer home, a winter home, a beach house, a bungalow in the mountains.... You travel to exotic, faraway places and stay in nothing but 5 star hotels and resorts.
AND...of course, only the best tables... in the very finest restaurants will do.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / Mixed Martial Arts (aka "Cage Fighting" although that's only what outsiders call it).
There's a link on my "about" page to where I train.
I'd do it because it's fun and that's about it. I'd probably go to a couple hours a day, 3 or 4 days a week after that.

Michel Medved did a special segment of that abut a week ago. He couldn't understand it & was asking for participants to call in to him to "enlighten" him. Some good callers responded. Sounds difficult. My son did HS wrestling & make it to state twice. I am guessing his training was not as intense as yours.
Need to leave for a few hours..

Yes, we did.
Last Friday we went to Watertown, NY to the Support the Troops in Watertown....Fort Drum area. Keith Urban did a great job entertaining. MIL stayed overnight at her sister's because she can't stand being alone for more than an hour.
If all goes as planned...we will see Alan Jackson, and perhaps Charlie Daniels at the NYS Fair this month.

It's been my life's dream to live in Montana and it's also been relegated to 'always be a dream' category. (I know, I sound like that Russian guy in "Hunt for Red October"!)

sound good. I love live performances. A few summers ago I became a Mannheim Steamroller groupie. I followed to 5 of his concerts & LOVED each one. the one in Detroit (out door amphitheater N of Detroit) was the best & the one in Cleveland on the waterfront amphitheater, next..
Now, I really have to leave .. this doggone computer!!!

Enjoyed your presentation immensely. I have an island vacation home so speak from experience; it's better w/a FEW choice friends living there (I'm a "people" person) rather than a lonely island home, but given that, off the Maine coast< it can be HEAVENLY.

Cute thread today, Billie! Thanks, Lori - glad you think so. And SO happy to hear you didn't lose any files when your computer croaked. WHEW! Know you are relieved.
And of course we'll have margaritas - white wine, martinis, champagne..... just whatever our hearts desire. LOL

That's why I might need the jet. ;) :)
She's the prettiest one of the housewives, I think. :) I've never gotten hooked on the show, but we see enough of them just with promos every time we turn on the tv!
