Senators demand Roe be upheld [Dem hags despise Roberts]
The Washington Times ^ | July 29, 2005 | Charles Hurt

A group of female Democratic senators said yesterday that they will vote against Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts Jr. unless he vows to uphold abortion rights.

Yesterday's comments exceed previous posturing by Democrats calling on Judge Roberts to state his position on settled cases, a practice that previous high court nominees have avoided. They also come closer than ever to establishing a single-issue "litmus test" for his confirmation. "Thousands of women a year died in back alleys," Sen. Barbara Boxer, California Democrat, said of the days before Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that established abortion rights.

Then why does the Constitution provide for a Supreme Court, ladies?

if so, aren't these hags contributing to the commission of a crime by threatening to not confirm ROberts until he viotates the law?

Sounds like the DC Chapter of Freerepublic needs to make citizen arrests in the name of the Constitution.

This is really good news. It means that they're absolutely convinced Roberts will be pro-life (no David Souter). I hope they're right.

The last time I looked, Justices of the Supreme Court of the US were to be evaluated on their abitlity to interpret an apply the the US Constitution in our current legal framework.

Political Ideology be damned - they are mutually exclusive.

You can substitute the word "slavery" in place of "Roe" or Roe V. Wade" and get some idea of the spiritual condition of these cretins.

Very good question ... I wondered the same thing. Rush often points out that liberals routinely toss out unverified statistics to make their case, hoping the media will not check their facts. Guess what? The media almost never does! Homeless numbers are the most obvious example ... a national homeless advocate routinely referred to 3 million homeless in this country when the number was shown to be less than 10 percent.

IF thousands died having secret illegal abortions, isn't the logical conclusion that the procedure itself rather than the illegality is the cause of death for all involved?

The other day a mother stopped the car on the beltway and told her 4 y.o. to go make a life for himself, and drove off.

Actually, there is a great analogy here to the pro-life position. If this really happened I'm sure the woman will be charged with a crime. The woman could have taken steps to give up her son legally but take care of him in the meantime. On the pro-life side, that's all we're asking: take care of your baby until someone who wants it can take over.

Too bad their mothers didn't abort this bunch...which brings to mind the comment a couple of years ago by the hideous Maxine Waters that she was marching for Roe because her mother didn't have the right to an abortion.

Obviously because many of them or their friends or close family members have had an abortion and to admit that abortion is murder is to admit that they or their friends or family members are murderers.

It's the only logical explanation.

Rather noble of these hags to advocate for laws that they need never worry about having personal use for. This one hasn't had her Distemper shots in a while.

They are still huffing paint fumes I see. This won't fly, but it makes their base happy so that the money can keep flowing in.

IMO... I believe the Dem's are obligated to filibuster Roberts. They're party is wedded to abortion-on-demand... it's the only industry they fully support.

They've seen that the Senate Republican's are without spine and know that the 'Constitutional Option' might be all bark and no bite.

They have no shame to lose at this point.

Abortion Legal in All 9 Months of Pregnancy!!!

From the article:

Date: July 25, 2005

Roe Education Plan Announced in Light of Supreme Court Battle

Washington, DC -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, announced that his organization will launch a special two-month educational campaign to bring Americans to a deeper understanding of how extreme the Roe vs. Wade decision is, and how out of step it is with the opinions of the American people. The campaign is meant to counteract the view that opposition to Roe is extreme -- a view that will be assumed in many discussions during the Supreme Court confirmation battles.

"Roe vs. Wade legalized abortion nationwide throughout all nine months of pregnancy. Most Americans don't know that and most Americans oppose that policy."

ah yes the RINO hags, too. I'm not overly found of SNOWE. And I live in her state.

I sympathize with you, but please understand that even a RINO is better than a liberal Northeastern Democrat. After all, Snowe voted for many of Bush's filibustered judges.
