Obviously because many of them or their friends or close family members have had an abortion and to admit that abortion is murder is to admit that they or their friends or family members are murderers.

Because abortion is essential - in fact, foundational - to their religion and they will go to any length to defend their, by now, well established lie. Roe v. Wade is bad law and wrongly decided even just on the basis of constitutionality, not to even need to mention the moral arguments (which are clear and overwhelming). These murderous pagans KNOW that it's a bad legal decision and that's why they simply want it accepted as legal precedent not subject to any examination. As the old expression goes, it "won't stand the light of day".

That having been said, Roe is ground zero in the culture war and no one should forget that fact. It's absolutely certain that the pagans won't because they NEED to continue their practice of child sacrifice. As to their drivel about the deaths from back-alley abortions, well, even if it were true, I wouldn't care.
