A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Got a gripe? Wanna share it? Wanna get it off your chest? Well, now's your chance...right here, right now!
I'll start... I like the sidebar - I like seeing the titles of Breaking News, and other news, when I check My Comments. What I DON'T like is those annoying polls at the top of the sidebar! I don't like polls; I don't particularly like to vote in them, so I don't like having to check one of the little squares just to move the *latest* one to the bottom of the sidebar. Whether we have Opinion Polls on the sidebar or not should be an option *we* can choose in our Preferences. At least I think so. :(
This thread will run for two days, so go ahead; it's your turn...get on *your* soapbox! (but do watch your language!)

Well then, thank you Billie for putting ST.Louie's idea into a thread.
Thank you ST.Louie for providing the idea for this thread. You may have noticed we think he's kinda special. :)
If you want to read a really cute, really fun one sometime, check this one: Blame it on St.Louie (What was your worst date?)

At Bottom
They brought some new stock in today,
And dumped it on my head!
You have to rotate stock, you know!
Was what I should have said.
Instead I suffered silently,
Ive done that far too long.
One needs to speak up fervently,
When somethings clearly wrong!
Its such a simple job, I thought,
Ill get a chance to shine!
The other apples all around,
I think would rather whine.
They've clearly lost ambition,
Cant do the simplest task.
Just suck it up and hold it in,
Is that too much to ask?
I guess a case of attitude,
Is what I now have gotten,
From too much pressure felt too long.
Boy, do I feel rotten.

Also, since you mentioned that it is Aunt and Uncle's day ... from last year...
Aunt And Uncle's Day
Avuncular is a clumsy word, to describe a lovely love,
That of an aunt or uncle for a brother, children of.
Or children of your sister, in-law or brother-in-law.
Heck, why draw the line? With kids I stand in awe!
They are the very essence, of what love is about.
The rest of us just whisper it, they have the nerve to shout!
A child is not afraid to love, I guess theyre closer to,
The source of love for all of us, that Heaven sends to you.
If youre an aunt or uncle, give your nephew or your niece,
A bit of love from Uncle Bob, make sure they get a piece.
I dont mind sending out a lot, it comes back multiplied.
Ive gotten more back than I sent, each time that it was tried.

Give me a call when you get home, Pippin. I'll let you rant some more!
I have the new Potter book, but I think I'm third on the reading list. I'm stuck re-reading those trashy novels that I have cluttering up the place.

OOOH!! Goody, goody goody, Billie!!
Ya mean we have your permission to hop up on our
and rant away?!
Among the several on on my pet peeves list, the Top One perhaps is about the KKK....yep...you heard it right, folks - -
Gasp away, but The LadyX is definitely down on the KKK - -
as in the Konstant Komplainer Korps....
You know the type - totally self-absorbed, believing the Universe is all about him/her, and therefore everything in their surroundings MUST BE PERFECT; AS THEY KNOW THEY ARE! - and designed to PLEASE THEM.
Whether it is the weather - their food - the size of a gnat's tooth (checking to see if you are awake and getting this..:)) - All Things must pass their muster/standards/desires...
My first encounter with them was in childhood in Florida.
Reared to be polite and considerate and caring and never critical, in Florida one was too often subjected to pathetic, suffering 'Transplants from Other Worlds.'
"Oh, it so HOT here" - ignoring the lovely breeze and the fact it often has been or has seemed hotter in the asphalt jungles from whence they came! - and that they left because of the long periods of snow to shovel and ice to scrape, and the stresses and physical discomfort those brought them.
The Endless List verbally goes on and on, and they seldom have anything pleasant to say!!
They simply DO NOT CARE about you, or anyone else but their own miserable selves.

Good Morning LadyX!
Good rant and I know a few of those people myself.LOL.
To: tuliptree76
"Take your plants for a walk day" LOL.. That will certainly get people ranting and raving. Do you have a little red wagon? Had an elderly neighbor who would walk her cats in a wagon. Made you laugh.
To: newfrpr04
Nope. I don't have a wagon.
But that is an unusual holiday. I don't know anyone who walks their plants.

Pippin ~ your post made my heart ache. I am fortunate in that no one I associate with is a Bush-Basher ~ sure there is always stuff that he does that someone complains about but they still support and his Presidency. I think if I had to spend a great part of my day surrounded by people who hate Bush and who continually regurgitate the vile propaganda from the cRATS, I afraid I'd end up being a very angry person.
I hate people that are so damned stupid they trust that if they hear ~ see and/or read it on the news it has to be true. I can't abide people who do not understand that just because the same story is reported the same way in 6 different "news" mediums, it must be true!
I get my panties in a wad whenever someone tries to claim that slick willies impeachment was just about sex; or claims that people should just forget about Chappaquiddick because it was so long ago and that the drunken sot kennedy has done so much good since then; or when someone declares that they support our soldiers but oppose that illegal war or tries to mitigate a terrorist act by claiming the victims themselves are partly to blame ('cause they did something the terrorists didn't like). The list goes on and on...
I could not stand working with a bunch of bleeding heart liberals who on the hand want to excuse even the most comtempable behavior of their own while at the same search tirelessly for the tiniest flaw with which they could possible crucify Bush or one of his team.
Gosh, Pippin I am around most of the time ~ off and on ~ day & night so if you ever wanna visit, or share something, or see a funny image or even just let off some steam, just FReep mail me or ping to a thread you are interested in discussing.

I WORK WITH HER!!!
She also thinks that we all work FOR HER! "Can you do this for me?" -- "Actually NO - do it yourself!! I have a job and it's not based around helping you!" - is always my first thought.
We started the same day - she's still trying to find out where her secretary is! We don't have one. If you want supplies, don't ask me for a pen - go to the supply cabinet. Responsibility is your friend.
...chick part (boys don't bother reading)
We had an off-site meeting the other day. She needed a tampon. The hotel machine was out. She actually COMPLAINED TO THE HOTEL MANAGER. I said to her, "Why didn't you bring one from home!? - you knew you'd need it!!! The Hotel Manager actually walked her into the gift shop where he bought her a box. I was appalled at her "queen-like" behavior. Ridiculous!
/chick part
I hate people like that.

Darn - this feels good. I like this thread.
